[WIPz] Morrowind: Uncut

Hello everyone,

For a while I have been toying with an idea about some of the unused content in morrowind and combining that with the offical plugins to provide what would have been a sort of "offical mini expansion". As time went on and I looked into things I realised that such a project would rapidly expand to cover other areas that would not been seen as 100% "official" content. Thus this mod was born.

That is what I want to do with Morrowind.

Morrowind has a small handful ofhttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Non-Existent_People in the CS, a minor handful of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Unfinished_Quests and a few items that were not placed in game. On top of this the offical plugins are filled with bugs (many modders have fixed these over the years) minor items never made it in game and ontop of this some ingame lore contridicts what is actually in the game world.

Morrowind:Uncut is my attempt to bring this "offical" content together and put it all in one ESP instead of having multiple little mods taking up space. It is designed to work along side the Patch Project and Morrowind:Uncut is not designed nor attempting to be a patch mod.

The mod is in very early stages and it does build upon the work of many modders before me. I have spent many hours researching on the subject of cut content/expanded content/fixing some content and UESP is my second home at the moment!

The main point of this thread is to bring the project to the attention of other modders who know of any unused content be it weapons, locations, quests, creatures ect... so that we as a community can put together a very lore satisifying somewhat officical mini expansion.

A second reason for me posting is so that people can point out what stuff the patch project already fixes; I have searched some of the notes for various things and have narrowed down my additions to co-exist with the patch project.

Here is what is included/fxied so far:

The official plugins

All offical plugins with fixes.

Weapons:

Stalhrim Spear**
Stalhrim Shortsword**
Nordic Silver spear**
Dwemer Longspear**

Axe of the Queen of the Bats*

Anora's club given to Anora

Silver staff of Dawn given correct name. (previosusly just called silver staff)

Dire Viperarrow now has its enchantment

Armor:

Round Wooden Shield**

Restored right Gauntlet of Horny Fist (netch leather version)*

Veloth's Shield*

Merisan Cuirass (changed stats to match Boiled Netch Leather Cuirass as per its appearance)
Ancient Nord Helm
Nordic Helm (note: these two helms exist but the meshes were used on Dragur creatures rather than placed in game)
MW Nord armor for Solsthiem (note: as the mod adds bloodmoon/tribunal stuff to morrowind so it will vice versa)
Dark Brotherhood Armor on Vvardenfell agents
Upper arm meshes for orcish and Templar Armor

Warlock's ring (fixed enchantment to included restore health as per description)

Five Fingers of Pain (added poison enchantment)

Ghoul heart is now available on Ash Ghouls, as described in dialogue

Apprentice Mortar and pestle no longer uses journyman mesh. It has its correct mesh assigned
Journyman Calcinator no longer uses apprentice mesh, it now has its correct mesh assigned

Locations:

Restored Ald Redaynia - small fishing village as stated by ingame texts. It will offer transport to Dagon Fel but no where else. Transport from Dagon Fel to Ald Redaynia will not be possible as per ingame texts.

Misc

Caldera mages guild has supply chest

Secret Master Lockpick and Probe now avalible in game*

Michael Kirkbride books: The 36 Lessons of Vivec Sermon Zero and Vivec's Gift

Needing Hospitality papers to receive any services in Sadrith Mora

Quests

As for the quests I will be looking at the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Unfinished_Quests on UESP to see what ones can be salavaged. Please note that due to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Dragonborn:Neloth the two Neloth quest will not be implemented.

NPCS

The NPC's from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Non-Existent_People will be added/restored to the game.

Some of the Dumer will be used to populate the restored Ald Redaynia.

*these items are in the CS but not placed in game

**these meshes exist on the disc/in the BSA

So what does everyone think? Would it be something that people would want/use? Have you got anythin to add? Am I missing any other cut content?

Off the top of my head these are fixed by the unofficial patches already out there (not 100% on which version did what though :ahhh: )
Ghoul heart is now available on Ash Ghouls, as described in dialogue (Thepal did this I think)

This is something I've been thinking should be added into the UMP I'm part of the team for (haven't mentioned it to the team yet as we're still reviewing the existing patches):
Needing Hospitality papers to receive any services in Sadrith Mora (IIRC, quorn originally had this in the unofficial patch but separated out his change into another mod)

These may sit more comfortably with the unofficial patch:
Silver staff of Dawn given correct name. (previosusly just called silver staff)
Merisan Cuirass (changed stats to match Boiled Netch Leather Cuirass as per its appearance)
Warlock's ring (fixed enchantment to included restore health as per description)

Some other thoughts:
Bloat plants added to Morrowind** - Addon for Graphic Herbalism adds them in caves, there's another mod that adds them into the Bitter Coast and Uvirith's Legacy makes the lack of Bloat a point in one of its quests (I think)
Restored Ald Redaynia - small fishing village as stated by ingame texts. - Princess Stomper made a mod which did this and Darkelfguy too
Ascended sleeper now have sounds - quorn again separated this from his unofficial patch into a separate mod

Hopefully Leonardo will swing by here as he had some ideas along these lines

The hospitality papers concept doesn't work as intended in vanilla imo, so perhaps that could be an improved version of quorn's Hospitality Paper mod. Of course if quorn grants the permission.

Indeed it should and yes you are correct I do have a few ideas.

By the way, Arthmoor and Andaylaybay are working on a unofficial patch for morrowind. I don't know if that may interest you, but that is.

I dont see any helms on draugrs. What you mean?

Dragon is a member of the team as well, so his comments regarding the things that are fixed by the unofficial patches are things that we'll be including as well.
