I'm on PC and played it to death, but I'd still buy it.

You're speaking of all who started TES with Skyrim, or just some of them?

I'm speaking of anyone who wants TES to be a dumb action game rather than an RPG

That's not me, then. I find wandering around, collecting, and RP-ing to be the most fun part of Skyrim. (games of this type overall, too)

Maybe they could put it up on the Arcade/PSN, but they wouldnt revamp anything. Its far too much work for something like that, and then it wouldnt be Morrowind.

Cool as it'd be, I doubt it'd happen. Much as I loved Morrowind, I'd rather remember the fun I had with it then. Besides, Morrowind isn't that expensive on Steam. And it'd probably just be easier to release Morrowind as digital download on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PSN; that way people get the pure Morrowind experience.

Of course, that might be a bit of a turn off, given that as awesome as Morrowind was, it did make quite a few really bad missteps. For starters, the quest log in Morrowind was atrocious; while it was more immersive, since it was a journal, it meant you'd lose track of where you were in a quest very fast. Not to mention some NPC directions were so vague you could spend an hour trekking to the middle of Western Nowhere, only to learn you were supposed to go trekking to southeast Nowhere.

Has anybody thought that they might release Morrowind for free like they did for TES I and II ?

I'm not in favor of a Morrowind remake. The graphics were great for its time, let us explore the other lands and when the technology will allow we can have a completely new visit in Morrowind (all of it) and see how it changed in time.

If you have a 360, the original Xbox version of Morrowind is backwards compatible. It doesn't run very well with whatever emulation software they used, but it still works. Sadly, I lost my Morrowind GOTY for Xbox a few months ago. I had a blast replaying it on my roommate's 360 right before Skyrim was released.

It's run just fine on my 360. The load screens can sometimes be a bit long, but the game itself runs just fine.

It's a good thing we haven't had a "dumb action" TES yet then.

Wouldn't pay for it. Give me a new game, not a remake of a game that's a decade old.

This. And fix the bugs of the current one.

I'd buy it, but if there were changes to what made Morrowind well, Morrowind I'd not be a happy Bethesda fan.

Never going to happen. SOny and Microsoft make it way too expensive and labor intensive to port to PSN / XBL. Even putting up patches is way more expensive on PSN/XBL than PC
