Most annoying bugglitch in F:NV?

Post » Tue Feb 04, 2014 12:00 am

What is that one bug, to you, that makes you wanna throw your controller into your wall?
I never really encountered any serious bugs, just the occasional, "Hey I'm a Radscorpian stuck halfway in the ground and I'm coming to kick your ass" bug, or something like that. However, I get it sometimes...That bug where your stuck in V.A.T.S. and you can't defend yourself. Got it earlier, and I was [censored] by 3 Military Cyberdogs and a Robobrain.

Before I turned off the auto save I used to have a few of those moments when the game corrupted saves, froze up etc, but since turning them off it had been smooth sailing *knock on wood*

What I hate is character morphing. You spend a bunch of time making a decent looking character, getting features and skin tone to a nice state, and then after a while, your character looks like a caricature Frankenstein (or bride thereof). ..and why the heck do female characters always seem to end up with a beard and mustache, or those areas lightened so they look really strange like a negative version of a beard...

I know, some people say "but you almost never see your character's face..." but the fact is I like to play in third person (and yes I do combat in third person too, and I rarely miss)... because the field of vision is so much wider. Also my character can keep on running straight ahead, and I can rotate around to see both the character and the entire landscape behind. So morphing features and skin tone are frustrating.

Mine is not knowing whether after an auto save or screen load if the game is going to be playable or not. I'd say there's a 30% chance after level 30ish that the game will freeze when I walk through a door/enter a cave/force the game to do something other than lie there and let me play it.

When I'm not connected to XBL, I dread reloading saves because for some reason the loading screen starts to lag, and in turns my entire system. It usually take an entire minute to load, and sometimes the game just straight up crashes. I usually had to restart the game before it reaches that one-minute mark where the game starts crashing. Hell, sometimes it catches me off-guard and crashes earlier than that.

Yeah, these are like the wildcard bugs... Sometimes the game just crashes during autosaving, or it crashes upon entrances to places... other times it just feels like crashing in the middle of nowhere.

If I have a nickel for every time the game crashes since I started playing, I probably have enough money to buy a gaming PC. No joke.

I've encountered only two bugs in about 100 hours of gameplay. First, everything started to clip through walls and ground. Second, more annoying - hatch to the abandoned BoS bunker was closed. I had to open it with console command.

- Collisions are terrible, though certain issues (like the Radscorp' below the ground) are coming from FO3. What really makes me want to smash the mouse in my hand is that certains ammos/weapons, like the .50 Explo or the YCS-186 are too oftenly fired/firing THROUGH enemies.

- A lot of Actors References are created/spawned/enabled/what you want only when you load a save. The cell is empty when saving, and then on load, surprise ! I don't even know what the [censored] is happening here.

- Teleportation/impulse/Havok madness/what you want, of or on Actors References. This happens on every playthrough, and is how you see Centaurs in plain middle of Nipton or at Charlie RS, Cazadores at Gibson Scrapyard or on the road to Jacobstown, dead Radscorpions streched in Novac (from the Gulch) or in Goodsprings, a Master with a minigun at the train station near the Hunter's farm (propulsed from Black Mountain, of course) and even once a Deathclaw at the south of Samson Rockcrush. If you can remain undetected you can notice that these Refs are immediatly starting to move, to regain the editor position where they are supposed to wander, sometimes at tenths of thousands of feets from where they currently are. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Wow, I guess I'm just lucky because I've never had any major crashes or save glitches in about 5-6 playthroughs.

Biggest glitch I have is people getting stuck in rocks or ending up in weird places. Not random enemies, but NPC's just standing on top of stuff.

EDIT: Actually, when I enter a cell, some random object my rustle around and bang against walls. Makes a jarring noise. Kinda svcks.

No game breaking bugs for me however, I always have bugged out radscorpions. (They seem to like going through the ground for some reason....)

Oh and freezing is always an issue.
