Most annoying followers in all of Skyrim

Post » Sun Jun 30, 2013 3:00 am

Okay, this topic is for all of you who hate your followers. Whether they are mindless idiots or just don't shut up. Feel free to rage at those you hate the most. :)

As for me ( and many of you I bet), my fiery hatred goes to Mjoll the Lioness. Although she is an invincible tank, she has the single annoying drawback that she NEVER... SHUTS... UP. If I hear her talk about the cold air one more time... I don't care what you did as a child, or what you think of your family, just follow me and be awesome in silence.

Serana.

She who likes to raise everything from the dead and leaves ash piles all over the place. Bit hard to sneak up quietly with all that stomping. She likes to get too close, is buggy, rebellious (will not do as she is told), gets lost all the time and will not share that hood. She will give you some disease if she can, teases and leads you on, yet refuses to get married.

Barbas would get second place, mainly for also wanting to be too close and knocking you off places, or boxing you in.

A lot of people are going to say Serana, but not me. She's my favorite, besides the Housecarls and Teldryn Sero. The only follower I really have a problem with is the one that gets in my way too often when I'm trying to swing my sword or..well pretty much when I try to do anything really. I prefer to work alone, so I rarely use followers. Whenever I do though (when I'm bored or just want the extra noise of someone talking) I take Serana 9 times out of 10, and the other 1 out of 10 is usually a housecarl that has been fully outfitted with legendary Daedric equipment. All fully enchanted with 2 effects for each piece of jewelry, armor, and weaponry might I add.

I hate all of them pretty much, I wish the dog was better because wolfhounds are cool as all f, but it's just a pain. It should be faster than you and you should be able to sick it on to fleeing deer. Also I like dogs too much so I'm constantly stressing about it getting hurt. Also (I could go on like this for some time) it should shut up, sighthounds very rarely bark, and no dog barks that much for no reason, certainly no dog that expects to be tolerated as a hunting companion for a rough and tumble survivalist/warrior.

The rest of the followers are probably even more annoying.

 sorry, I knew this was coming, but this is just funny to me. Especially the "not share her hood" part. It would be nice to have an disenchanted hood like her's, wouldn't it? It's pretty much just a disenchanted Guild Master's Hood.

I do love Serana. My problem is that even if she gets cured, her eyes still glow and she still uses dialog that only a vampire would say.

This.

Dogmeat in Fallout 3 was awesome, but the dogs in Skyrim (including huskies and hellhounds) are just too annoying.

If their was any animal companion I would chose it would be a sabrecat but its just my luck that they are 1 of the few that have animation bugs.

I just straight up hate them all. I hate checking my backside every 5 seconds to see if my followers can keep up with me. This really svcks when you finally join The Companions and for some reason think it would be a good idea to accept Vilkas' offer of work(play that quest, you will understand why).

Her tendency to use reanimate (other than the fact she is hot) is why I have her follow me constantly. She summons flame atronachs too, so I could have a party of 5 at one time if I summon my atronach.

On the note of reamimation, why can't you reanimate dragons. I know they can theoretically, because there is that skeleton dragon you fight in Labarynthia, but I have not seen a spell that can do it.

They are all equally annoying.
They pretty much just get in the way and make noise.

The only one I ever thought was actually helpful was Shadowmere, and s/he isn't even a "true" companion.

BARBAS gets top cause at least the other followers you can kill if they block you in beyond a certain won't back the hell up point but barbas that flea bitten mongrel of 1`s an 0`s just won't frigging die sure he might be good on the open tundra but in a cave he's more dangerous then the morons your hunting.

I only really like 1 follower well 2 kinda an they are Frea an the reikling at least they listen an you ain't seen nothing until you see a reikling kill a dragon.

The thread is supposed to be about followers we "hate", not the ones we "like". lol

I haven't use many of them and Lydia is the one I liked the less so far: she yawns in my back...

Honestly I hate to say this, but Serana. Once DG is done all I hear is either the weather (maybe she should be looking into getting a job at Skyrim's Weather Channel) or whatever we're at, she hates the place (even my PCs' home!). Plus, getting the vampire disease, even if my PC(s) are werewolves, gets to be problematic.

Barbas almost unseated Serana for the top spot (that damn hound shoved my PCs off the cliff and died several times until I told him to stay at Haemar's... best option to use), but like some of the lines he uses in dialogue that were funny, thus #2.

90% of the time, my PCs prefer to be by themselves.

This is why I love my new "shove" mod, anytime a NPC walks "into" you they get shoved instead :P

I was refering to when an Actor moves into the PC literally shoving them aside like they're standing on ice.

On Topic: Their are no robotic followers in Skyrim, so they should be somewhat annoying.

:D

Its part of a huge overhaul mod to make the game more realistic, not available for download yet but will be once polished.

I haven't had the pleasure (?) of traveling with Serana yet.

Of those I've had as followers...

Barbas isn't that bad because you only travel with him a short while. But he is annoying during that time, and also other quest-specific followers that ahead instead of actually following.

Lydia because she is so stupid. But that also makes her funny.

Onmund because, the only time I've had him as follower, he kept friendly firing me with shock spells.
