No point taking gaming journalism seriously. Half of them are just writing what the companies pay them to write, and the other half don't have a clue about gaming and gaming history in particular. But if it pays the bills...

Yeah, most games are for consoles , strange that Diablo made it lol . There are many articles about "most anticipated games" in many sites , usually i'd advise you to look for most anticipated rpgs but i am not sure if skyrim will fall into this category .

It's not just that, though. One of the GI articles, the one about asking TH questions, I think, that had more comments than any other Game Informer article EVAR!!!!!!

That's how anticipated Skyrim is.

As you can tell, I don't really care about this. But what the hell:

That doesn't necessarily tell us a whole lot about how anticipated Skyrim is. After all, no doubt there were a lot of comments on that article precisely because there was a good specific reason to post a comment - namely, that it might yield new information about Skyrim. For other articles, it's less clear what the point of posting a comment is - at least, it's less clear what the payoff is.

My wishlist is:
Skyrim
The Witcher 2
Mass Effect 3
and then Shogun 2 TW (I liked the series except the last two installments), Dragon Age 2 (didn't like the 1st one really much, but it was good, and the new one could be better), Portal 2 (just to spend a few evenings having fun), RAGE (I loved Doom and Quake, so I may like this one), Deus Ex (never played the previous ones, but may be epic)

Six of these aren't in the list. Actually, who cares. We have our, they have their list. Tastes differ.

Of course, if you ask about the "most anticipated game of 2011" on a "deer hunting" website, guess what game will show up as #1? My suspicion is that the poll question asked by Gamasutra was either carefully worded or specifically placed on a site so that they got exactly the answers they wanted to suit their advertisers.

Either that, or else they have inside information that Skyrim won't "actually" ship until sometime in 2012.....

Gamereactor ranked Skyrim as the "hottest game of 2011". And they have played/watched the game themselves, so they should know.

Not all companies know of Skyrim yet, probably.
And some are just ignorant of its awesomeness

Gamasutra Epic Fail!

Skyrim is THE anticipated game of 2011... at least in my book.

I could see Rage getting a larger overall following for obvious reasons, but Skyrim should be #2 at worst!! :mohawk:

A lot of people I know who arnt into western RPGs absolutely hated Oblivion and Fallout 3(understandably on consoles), so that list doesnt really surprise me. Its stupid theyre counting things more than once though. Like Pokemon Black/White is the same game, and theyre duplicating many for different platforms. Its more like a top 10 list.

Edit: Personally Im not really interested in Diablo 3, and I spent a good 5 years playing Diablo 2. It might have a little something to do with my hate of Activision and my disgust on how Blizzard has become nothing more than a fat wallet though.

I don't like em too [activision and blizzard], and personally think that WoW is to blame.... the diablo series are the ones that are given the least attention but are the best, imo... that's why i play and like only them from what blizzard have to offer...
