Oblivion: "The emperors son is named MARTIN? What a mundane name! WAIT HES A DRAGON? Oh that makes everything better."

Hey, that's my last name, bro.

Yeh, but your last name isn't within the confines of a mythical fantasy setting where you are the bastard son of a knocked-off Emperor and the "Savior of the World™" :P

I've only played Oblivion and it is my favorite game of all time, even on the 360. Alot of things disappoint me about it, but the only thing that really really gets me is the leveled quest rewards. That factor literally keeps me from playing the game. It keeps me from starting new characters. I absolutely just cannot stand taking a weaker version of an item that should've have been set in the first place. They could've at least made the crap like Umbra where it would level with you.

Even Crysis has 2D leaves. That complaint applies to essentially any game that's ever had leaves..

not MW2, or even MW1

"Balthazador" has a much nicer ring to it than "Martin."

There are a lot of stuff in Oblivion that really dissapointed me, my sig sums up what I feel about Oblivion. Here's a list.

Huge blunders:
-No "Radiant AI", one of the biggest things I was looking forward to was this incredible AI that was supposed to be in OB, it never came to be.

-The leveling system, god is it awful. The best thing about MW is that it takes time to build a character and if a starting character can go and do everything at day 1, what's the point of leveling? Where's the feeling of accomplishment? Good thing there are mods.

-The guilds and side-quests; Oblivion just lacks them and lacks depth.

Medium blunders:
-Fewer skills, removal of weapons like crossbows, throwing weapons, spears, polearms.

-The combat; It makes for a good hack and slash game, but not for an RPG game the TES series is known for. Magic system has a lot of problems (less spells, overpowered, etc.), though I liked the addition of encumbrance/magic efficiency to help balance.

-Enchanting svcks on top of only equipping 5 pieces

-Too many zones/loading doors, I liked the seamless feel MW has.

-Ugly people, the faces in Oblivion are very unappealing, I've looked for mods none of them really fix it.

-The voice overs; There are too few voice actors in Oblivion and their voices are shared WAY TOO MUCH by the NPCs. Also there is less dialog and makes mods that use dialog stick out.

Small blunders:
-Less armor; a set in Oblivion is only 5 pieces compared to MW's 8 pieces.

-Fast travel only, yes it is optional but I miss silt striders and boats to travel, it made sense and fit the game perfectly.

-Can't sell stolen goods, apparently whenever you steal something it gets contaminated with some sort of scent that only merchants can detect.

-The physics, yes it's nice to see some physics in a TES game, but when you pick up a spoon and the whole table explodes and shifts around, there's a problem.

//**********************\\

Those are my major complaints, there's probably more but those stick out in my mind. Oblivion is a fun RPG, but doesn't really feel like the TES series I know.

There's a bunch of complaints I have with Morrowind, and a bunch more with Oblivion, but there's only two real big disappointments.

Vivec and the Imperial City.

Vivec was built up to be this huge cultural and economic center of the Dunmer that was talked about by all of the NPCs. I put off visiting it until I had to so I wouldn't spoil the anticipation. It turned out to be a bunch of big sparsely populated turtle shells with some yellow armored dudes patrolling the barren walkways. The Imperial City in Oblivion was even worse, because its reputation has been built up over the course of all the games. Far from being a cultural melting pot metropolis it was insultingly tiny and had the same few characters as every other village.

The cities and towns really disappoint me in general. They have the size of Redguard with all the personality of Arena. It's like the worst of both worlds. Thank the gods for mods.

QFT!

In morrwind with all the "unrest in imperial city", it was soo hyped up in Morrowind that I thought that IC would be magnificent!

Boy was Imperial city a huge letdown.

I discovered people in the tes world although they have to eat and drink they apparently consume every bit of matter that goes in them eliminating the need for restrooms. This is not a really a disappointing discovery.

btw you can use them just so you know.

Thats what i mean. Why not just do the same with the next tes game? If it just a waste then might as well get rid of plates, forks, and other useless stuff taking up space. They should just put them in there for looks what can it hurt?

What dissapointed me most in Oblivion:

My first time in an Ayleid ruin, having worked my way past skeletons, zombies traps etc., having got to the end and found a "Very Hard" locked chest, upon which I used ~40 lockpicks to open because it had to be something awesome(it was after all and the end of a long dungeon and labeled Very Hard, wheras everything else was locked "Easy") finally opening it and finding 32 Gold and an Iron dagger...because I was level 2. I was so angry after that that I put the game down for a while. And then after learning about treasure-scaling, leveling up my character in anticipation of being able to find some nice rare armor and weapons at the end of dungeons, and my tragic disappointing upon discovering that apparently all the bandints in Cyrodiil had found some kind of magic rare item treasure trove and they were decked out in gear that made my hard won gear feel just as useless as my fur armor and rusty iron longsword. Level scaling really is a massive scar on the game. There are other flaws, but you asked me what was most disappointing. I could have lived with the other flaws but not the insult that was level-scaling and loot-scaling.

LOOT! In Morrowind, if you broke into the right tome, you could rack up several hundred thousand: limited only by your encumbrance. In Oblivion, money was useless and dungeons were full of iron, etc. In morrowind, money was slightly more useful, and although the majority of loot was rubbish, you would randomly come across great rewards (Randgulfs fists, for example.)

Also level scaling. The world shouldn't change just because you change, although if you become the highest ranking imperial officer, they should forgive you a five coin bounty, and farthermore not call you trash half the time.

I was disappointed to find out that the Tribunal were really supposed to be considered "gods" by the other gods. The story would have been so much better if they were just powerful elves.

I also hate the messed up lvl scaling, I mean, who would even even think of such a thing?

1. Was dissapointed by the small selection of armor and weapons. Only 1 type of longsword and 1 type of cuirass of every 8 types of meterial.

2. When I found out how few voice actor that there were. Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer = 1 male/female voice actor. Orc, Nord = 1 male/femle vocie actor. Khajiit and Argonian = 1 male/female voice actor. Oh, and that the voices acting was lame didnt help either!

3. Uninteresting Landscape.

My most disappointing moments are as follows:

Never crossing paths with Jiub again in Tes3

Tes4 brought mixed feelings. I was glad he went on to become a hero, He drove the clifracers from Morrowind and was made a saint for it. He also fought the Daedric hordes during the Oblivion crisis when The nerevarine (us) was not there to save the day as he/she had before.
