Most expensive NES game ever

Post » Thu Jul 01, 2010 8:34 am

This. I once bought an unlicensed NES game (black cartridge) from a dealer for $3. Then I turned around and told him the history of Tengen and about the black cartridges. It was the only black cartridge game he had. :D

You should find the bible adventure games. one of them comes in a baby blue cartridge and the other one is a black cart.

My only unlicensed game is Rolling thunder.

Whoever won that game is one lucky son of a [censored]...

I bet that amount of money is all the bidder has.

Who he needs food and shelter when you have Stadium Events? AmIright?

I believe the baby blue on is Bayou Billy, but I'm not sure. there is also Baby Boomer or something like that. I've played both of those back in the NES days.

Unless they are a collector there is absolutely no reason why someone should spend that much money on a game, even if it is rare.

Who else BUT a collector would spend that much on it?

The interesting thing is that the bidding started at $0.01. :P

Reminds me of the horrifically craptacular http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_52 game, which retailed for 200$ when it released. It was the idiot designers' idea that, because it had 52 games, it was worth 200$. They also had a ton of merchandise made for the game like shirts, hats, etc. Of course, it was a terrible flop and all that merchandise went to waste. James Rolfe (aka Angry Video Game Nerd) http://cinemassacre.com/2010/04/30/avgn-episode-90-action-52/ the game. All of them, including the final one (a separate episode for this very special turd): http://cinemassacre.com/2010/06/09/avgn-cheetahmen/, that the entire merchandising scheme was based around.

Truly this world has been plagued by terrible games that we do not have the capability as humans to comprehend.

This isn't what I'd buy if I had $20,000 I didn't need.

Have you been taking pictures of my toilet?

I think this auction deserves a good old "What is this I don't even...." moment.

That was pretty smart on the sellers part. He knew it was worth a small fortune, and that it would guaranteed get bid up to massive proportions, so instead of paying a huge listing fee by starting it at 5k-10k, he paid virtually nothing to start it at 1 cent. Bad enough he's got to pay Ebay AND paypal fees on that massive 20k sell. He'll only see about 19k out of that after they take their cut.
