Most FAIL moment in FO3?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:11 am

Mine was going to Rivet City for the quest, looking around the whole ship for a way to get in. I failed to see the intercom by the front. Until I saw a door that was Locked-Very Hard. I ventured off into the wasteland in search of XP to level up. 6 levels later I came back and found the intercom.

Alrighty then, back onboard the on topic train... my most fail moment was when I was walking across a bridge looking through the scope of my sniper rifle trying to pull off a long distance headshot. I was concentrating so much that I didn't notice the missing chunk of pavement in front of me. I fell off the bridge and landed literally on top of four Mirelurk Hunters in the water below  I lived, but it hurt.

I don't get why people insist on rehashing their same complaints over and over but in different threads. We get it, you hated it, let the rest of us enjoy it for the reasons that we enjoy it.

End rant!

One of my most fail moments was disregarding the pop up when rigging a gun in Operation: Anchorage, and getting blown up twenty seconds later. Oops :P

A similar story goes with being attacked by the raiders at the one drive in they hole up in, and blowing up a bunch of cars AND myself.

Of course, there's every time I think I'm so smart I can sneak up and snipe or VATS some enemy, and I end up firing into the environment when I thought I had a clear shot, and then end up with whatever it is coming down on my head.

Jumping off one of the highest points in Megaton to complete Moira's "crippled limb" quest. I crippled my leg all right...the darned thing fell right off! Needless to say, I died.

Way back when it first came out I snuck into Fort Banister and by the time I realized it was Talon company's main base I was deep inside the base surrounded by Talon Mercs rushing me from 4 different corridors.

I don't count mishaps as fails but one moment I really regret was shooting two Enclave soldiers who had surrendered.

I feel really bad about doing that too. I finally convinced myself it was better that they die by my hand than what waited on the other side of the door.

My most FAIL moment in FO3? Playing Broken Steel.
Why: because that POS DLC CAUSES the deletion of Raven Rock in the game. And the only way that the in-game appearance of the entrance to Raven Rock could be rendered inaccessible in the manner that it is, is via the Botherhood of Tin once again making illegal use of Optimus Prime. And the devs deliberately designed that DLC so the only way to get the chance to remove the Botherhood of Tin's base is by actively aiding the Botherhood of Tin throughout the DLC's missions.

The Enclave...

Anyone who has read my exhausted theories on why the Enclave is abused know why, for those interested I could dig them up, certainly not in the mood to write them all again and remind myself that even my escapism seems to want to piss me off.

Mine was not being able to find Megaton on my first playthrough (hadn't yet figured out the compass/map system). Walked right through fairfaix ruins searching for it....almost died and lost nearly all my ammo before I randomly stumbled upon megaton....

I never ran across that before. I take it this happened in Broken Steel(I haven't reached that yet)?

No, it's part of the vanilla main quest if you take a certain path in a conversation. Can't really say more in Gen. Discussion.

I immediately recognised the compass and markers from playing Oblivion, so to avoid the quests that the markers indicated, I headed away from their directions, without knowing that the MQ marker was pointing at Megaton. After finding Arefu, Meresti, RobCo and Tenpenny, it had me wondering for some time where the hell was Megaton.

Spending hours with Fawkes killing everything from radroaches to super mutant behemoths. And then he gets killed by Liberty Prime's foot.

Edit: just thought of an even more fail moment so I replaced my previous one
