Nord definately, not because it's their place or because it was a nord in the trailer, but it seems fitting that a Nord would be the most able, in my opinion, to channel the energies of a Dragon's Soul.

Probably a Nord. Imperials get too much glory already.

Bethesda thinks it's a Nord, so i'll go with that. Can you really picture swapping out the Nord Dovahkiin in the trailer with a Bosmer? That Dragon shout might seem a bit strange.

Nord, they were the original species of Men, and should, in my opinion, be the only ones that have access to that power.

It would be a song instead of a shout then. O.o

Imperial in my opinion. Even though it takes place in a Nord Region.

Argonian since they're almost lizards, and Dragons are almost lizards. It's pretty obvious that the people picking Nord and Imperial don't even know what a dragon is.

I will probably playbthe main quest right away as an Imperial. Then play the adventurer as a Dark Elf or an Argonian.

Actually, no. the Nedic from Atmora were. Bretons, Imperials and Nords more-or-less came about the same way, as slight evolutionary divergence based on their geographic areas. Bretons might be the wierd one. being a mongrel race of Nedic and Aldmer. If we assume Earth-biology, Bretons would be sterile, like all Hybrids, where as Nords and Imperials would be about as different form one another as the Swedish are from the French.

From what I understand of the origin of the races, there are fewer actual species than the 10 races. There's Mer(Chimer/Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, Orsimer) Men(Imperial, Nord) Yokudans(Redguard), Argonian, Kajhiit and the Hybrid Bretons. So that's six?

By that logic, Nord and Imperial would be the most likely candidates, if it's some sort of "Bloodline" thing. The Septim line were Dragonborne, so the original Kings (Skyrim) and the Cyrodiils are equally plausible.

But I played an Imperial Neravarine, so who knows the gods' will?

A Nord, obviously. Traditionally, they were the single race capable of using the power of http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Way_of_the_Voice.

If it weren't for Skyrim, it'd most likely still be the same way. Whoever voted for anything else does not know their lore very well.

Tibers Love child with Barenzia would have been an elf...and Dragon born... Argonians and Khajiit are from a time before Men and Mer even set foot on Tamriel...who's to say what race is most "fitting" to be Mystically endowed by the Gods?

Or else remembers that being Dragonborn has nothing to do with race, but with the blessings of the 9 Divines to a mortal in time of need. Maybe in this instance, the best one to be Dovahkin is -not- a Nord, as they are all busy killing one another, and that could drag the Chosen one into affairs that have nothing to do with his/her destiny.+

The Septims were Imperials, and they were also Dragonborn.

I'd say Nord, almost a no brainer, but i don't know why but i always disliked playing the province's native race. So Dunmer would be my second choice to most fitting (and is also what i'll actualy be), because their race was part of the royalty at several different points in history. That, and the fact they're a race in exile now. Makes for a good story.

Yeah...and Nords are sometimes annoying. In Oblivion...there was this super annoying Nord. Don't remember who he was...I think he was in the Imperial City. When I talked to him he was like "Whaaaaaattt?" in a sort of angry/annoyed voice. He said it every time...even when I walked by him.
