Most fun race to be in skyrim?

Post » Mon Oct 10, 2011 10:07 am

Based on the info given about stealth gameplay in skyrim, magic, etc, what would you chaps think will be the most amusing style of play this time around? along with a certain race. Everyone seemed to lean toward Argonians and dark elves in oblivion, with magic and combat. Jack of all trades is unbelivably boring if anyone has tried that in oblivion which was made extremely worse because of the class system. So will it be dark elves with destruction, archery and, swords again?

Er, for some reason I predict that this will not be a unanimous decision. I prefer Dunmer.

Breton mage. Dual spell casting has drawn me to be a mage for the first time in any TES game.

My mage Orc of course!
I never let the race affect what their "class" is going to be, because then that will get boring.
For me the race is just how you want your character to look like.

For playstyle, Breton mage sounds pretty good.

If you want it to be as lore abiding as possible, though? Nord warrior.

I will personally be playing the latter.

bosmer make great stealth characters so i have one as an assassin. and argonians can survive virtually anything and they can breath underwater which opens up a whole new list of tactical options and argonians are pretty damn good warriors and mages. and surprisingly enough orc monks are very fun to play as.

Also, I was a jack of all trades in Oblivion with several characters. None of which were boring.

My hands down favorite if I had to pick race is Bretons. My favorite playthrough is usually a Breton mage or my personal favorite, a stealthy magic user who uses only sneak and blade with illusion, destruction, alchemy, possibly conjuration, might eventually be a vampire. I'm either going to be an Orc or Nord on my first playthrough, although I'm leaning toward Orc since I usually never pick the race of the province the games in just because I think it's cliche. I know I'm gonna focus on combat, which this is the first ES title that I'm interested in doing anything other than mostly magic and stealth characters. I was thinking heavy armor and two handed weapons, but the more I've been thinking about it the more I'm leaning towards an Orc who uses an axe and shield, along with heavy armor and enchanting. I think that all the races and playstyles look fun as hell to play, and the perks make any number of combinations possible! I'll probably have fun with all of the races in Skyrim eventually :)
