Most Interesting Minor Characters

Post » Sun Sep 08, 2013 6:37 am

While most major characters have back stories and goals, Bethesda takes the time to also give some the minor characters a bit of backstory. Of them, which do you think was most interesting? Which ones do you wish was more fleshed out?

I like Ralof and Hadvar's relationship. Both from Riverwood, on separate sides of a war, and I kind of wish there was more to their stories.

I like what little we learn from Sapphire and her relationship with Glover Mallory. I wish it could've been a little more involved.

Erandur. He did cruel things as a priest of Vaermina and deserted his fellow priests, leaving them to die in an attack. Consumed by remorse, he became a priest of Mara. I love his dialogue as a follower.

Spoiler
Thats her father. though it is sad that you can't introduce the two.

I wish there was more background to characters in the other factions. Aela and the brothers Vilkas and Farkas. Or Brelyna of the college of Winterhold.

Lydia... now thats a gal I always wondered about. How did she end up as a housecarl? Whats her background?

"Can't wait to count out your coin!"

The bandit(s) has the best background story.

Same here. I was expecting a quest like with the dark elf from Riften.

Spoiler
I don't think that his quest is available if you frame him for Brinyolf.

I don't always abandon my colleagues, but when I do, I become a priest of Mara.

Niranye, how she establishes herself in Windhelm, how she interacts with other NPC, it's most interesting.

Rune and all the house carls.

I would have loved to see more background and interactive dialogue with your fellow guild members.

I'm not sure if you can get the quest if you haven't already, but you can definitely complete it if you have--you just have to speak to him in his current location, not at his stall.

Ah, ok. The first time that I ever took the quest it was beforehand, and I never checked to see if he was still accessible afterward.

You probably can get the quest from him even in his current location, but I've never tried that, so I didn't want to say for sure. If you have the PC version of the game, the Unofficial Skyrim Patch puts him back at his stall eventually.

Drellas. Who is he? What is he? An evil necromancer working on killing every living being on Tamriel and rising them as his undead slaves, or just a kind old man who doesn't happen to be fond of visitors? A sinister wizard trying to reopen the gates to Oblivion, or just a nice guy who doesn't like trespassers?

Lu'ah Al-Skaven. Not only is she a Redguard conjurer/necromancer(pleasant surprise) she also had a brilliant goal. A shame I couldn't offer her my expertise in the Dark Arts.

Whomever he is, should be thoroughly investigated. Preferably, by a young aspiring adventurer with his pa's axe.

I loved the lore behind Ahzidal, but I'm not sure if he classifies as "minor."
