Most memorable moment so far in FO:NV?

Post » Tue Jan 13, 2009 6:13 pm

So I was playing earlier and decided to use my cannibal perk more often. Since I got done with hardcoe and got the achievement (Heck ya!) I turned it off. I was hated by the NCR so I decided that I will destroy the NCR and eat them. I first went to Camp Mcarran disguised as a NCR Trooper with a Silenced Varmint Rifle with scope and AP Rounds. I sneaked around head shotting troopers and dragging there corpses and eating them. I then went to the camp in the bottom left corner of the map and killed everyone the same way.

The greatest thing was when I went into the barracks and got into a huge firefight and decided to throw a grenade. Stuff went everywhere and lagged a bit. Corpses and limbs were flying by and blood splattered everywhere. After everything settled down the bar looked like something from WWII. Still pretty epic. So I ate there corpses and kept some human remains for later. Dont believe me? Go throw a grenade in there and see how epic it is.

So, whats your most memorable moment?

well, i was wandering the wastes when some legion assasin or other comes up to me and tells me that im marked for death. all im wearing is sheriffs duster and sheriffs hat, and the only weapon i have is my trusty police pistol (dead money ftw). i had recently sent boon to vegas becuase i was tired of him killing things before i could even notice them. so then dialogue ended, and i drew my pistol and said to myself "Do ya feel lucky, punk?" and at that time, like 5 other assassins came around this rock formation. i was able to take out about 3 before i ran out of stims and food, and booked it to another rock. as the 2 left turned around the corner, i opened fire, as i also noticed like a bizillion rounds fly over my head. 2 dudes where dead in nano seconds. i turned around, and saw my saviors. a whole freaking squad of ncr troopers (about 6). turns out i accidently booked it to the then unknown to me ncr defense post just outside of searchlight. after that, i knew House was not worth working for, and began helpin the ncr. now that youve been told this, i shall also tell you i was playing on hardcoe on hard (not very hard) and that without those troopers i woulda been kicked back about an hour of my life becuase i hadnt saved in about an hour.

The conversations that I've had with Cass, Veronica, No Bark, Fantastic, Boxcars and Mr. House have helped me experience New Vegas in a fun and meaningful way. Laughing when Boxcars swears or Cass saying "That (Censored) Monument", those are just great memories that I've got playing New Vegas.

As SkullerX however with a close combat build, spiked knuckles and facing every camp.
Including McCarran with first recon and the full trooper brigade during daylight no sneaking.
Then headed to Camp golf and took on all of them including the full set of elite rangers with brushguns+.
Then 188 with two heavy troopers with light machine guns.
Then the dam... and so on.
Less a favourite moment and more an insanely fun build that kept on giving.

The very first time you play New Vegas and look at the scene of dawn over looking Vegas from your grave, it's a very beautiful site. :fallout:

Turning on the game full of excitement, playing for a few hours, crying and turning on Fallout 3 again.

^ Lol. I found New Vegas a lot harder than F3, but I also found that a good thing.

My most memorable moment has got to be:
"The game was rigged from the start-"

Wow you guys are boring.

It's clearly obvious that the most exciting moment in the entire games was "Please assume the position".

Anything else would be a lie. A lie.

The openning cutscene where you are shot.

I can't forget that "Da-dummmmmm-do-dum..." toned music playing in the background/main menu.

same! the moment fallout: new vegas came up and that music started going for the first time, I was [censored]ing my pants.

gameplay wise, I'm not too sure. probably when I was coming near camp searchlight, and knew nothing about it. I had the volume up really loud, and while walking toward the town heard something running up to me, turned around and actually yelled aloud as a NCR ghoul took a swipe at my face. they just started coming out of the fog after that, and I was a pretty early level. no rad-away or rad-x, either.

Me accidently stealing a pencil in camp mcarren. And every single NCR trooper turns their guns on me.
At first my reaction is confusion. "Hey guys what did i do"
Then it was anger "You want a [censored]in fight? Come on then!"

I legged it out of camp maccaren barely alive, then came back later armed with power armour, minigun, and missile launcher. It was beautiful :fallout:

Playing as a Great Khan character at level 17 or 18, with hardcoe mode and the highest difficulty setting.

After leaving the 188 Trading Post (took off my armor for that) headed south, had a bad feeling and looked around, then noticed I had the NCR Ranger Troop coming to kill me for my bad reputation with them. Kept moving to a billboard sign, stopped to face them, got their "Time to die speech," then ducked behind the billboard as they opened fire. Did a crap-ton of ducking and running around that billboard, using all the Turbo and Slasher I had until I finally just BARELY killed the last ranger, just as I ran out of stims. Felt like a movie; like a non-chalant protagonist calmly realizing he's being followed, and calmly looking for a place that would be good to fight them at, before stopping and facing toughest the fight of his life.

Had another fight on the same character, trying to take out Forlorn Hope at level 15 or so. Lots of ducking and hiding, Turbo usage, and sneaking back in to pick off stragglers.

In conclusion, Turbo is awsum. Kids should try it.

When Boone took on all the gusty/sentry robots by the downed copter by himself, at lvl6 or so. First playthrough and I was suddenly "wow, companions rock!" I think Boone knew I wasn't impressed with him at first, and wanted to show me how awesome he was so I'd let him kill all the Legion. Haven't looked back since. :P

Other than that....first encounter with a giant radscorpion, when I had no idea how dangerous it was supposed to be for very low clvl's (since this is my first Fallout). There were quite a few of those kind of 'oopsie' moments early on in my 1st runthru.

After 40 hours of game play, running into Olivier Swansick from Nipton again. I'll never forget that, I thought the dude was rad-scorpion mulch the moment he left town, resilient bugger.

Meeting Jessup and telling him I'm a ghost coming to haunt him.

Hitting a nightstalker into orbit with a baseball bat.

Seeing New Vegas in the distance, plenty of good locations to get a nice view of the city.

Finding the Tribal Village from All Roads.

I also agree with Gabriel, Raul. That's all that needs to be said he easily became my favorite when after recruiting him.

Getting into New Vegas for the first time. "I really oughta go murder Benny, but I could gamble or go talk to Mr.House. Ah, Benny can wait."

For me... Let me think.

Completing Ghost Town Gunfight. Really great first quest.

Annoying guy near Goodsprings Source sending me on a wild goose chase to "rescue his girlfriend from Geckos". It was an interesting learning experience- realizing that in FNV, quest objectives might not always be simple and straightforward.

Conversations with Veronica, and her comments during our travels together. You have to admit she's highly entertaining, and grows on you quickly.

Completing Come Fly With Me.

First Deathclaw. One-hit kill with an AMR, incendiary round. Spectacular.

Going to the Crimson Caravan, Finding Alice, sneak behind her, wait for her to turn around and shoot her in the torso with the AMR...you know what happened to her...
Also a golden gecko got stuck so he began to spin in place and never stopping.
