Most powerful person in tamirel?

The Champion of Cyrodiil beats him , because he became a Daedric Prince.

But the Nerevarine beat up a Daedric Prince ;)

Meh, I don't know. Some wizard, probably. Divayth?

Well, yeah if you think about it that hard. But if you don't, then Neravarine wins hands down. Besides, there will probably be a book or journal in TES V that explains what happened to the Neravarine, hopefully. I hate cliff-hangers that last a decade.

Actually, it's a staple of the TES series that the fate of the heros from previous games is always left ambiguous. If an "official" answer was given, it'd conflict with many people's characters, since everyone RP's differently.

With that being said, don't take that "Nerevarine went to Akavir" rumor so literally. It IS a rumor, afterall.

The Nerevarine is not in Tamriel, but in Akavir. The same goes for the COC, who is now sitting on his throne somewhere in Oblivion.

Rumor.

The throne of madness is stuffed with thumbtacks. very uncomfortable.

The Nerevarine was eaten by Akaviri. that's why a new avatar for the PC was selected. ;)

Politically, I would say King Helseth. If Ocato can't muster a single soldier from the Imperial Legion to support the defense of a major city, how much "power" does he have? The Champion of Cyrodiil is not really an established political figure (unlike the Nerevarine), and the Nerevarine isn't on the continent, as already mentioned.

In terms of physical/magic "power", Divayth Fyr has the highest level of any NPC (except characters from the expansions), Daedric armour, and all kinds of spells I'd imagine. I would assume most faction leaders are out of the running, since you usually wind up killing them, and/or acquiring their most powerful items.

I think the Nerevarine of Morrowind is one of the most powerful mortals, if you take for granted that this Nerevarine exploited all of Morrowind's politcal sturctures and became head of all the factions and houses there...

Why did Nerevarine go to Akavir? I havent played OB yet!

Vivec gets my vote as most phyically powerful. Psijics as most influential/enigmatic. Ocato as most seen and therefore most politically territorial.

This quit intresting, King Helseth as a new emperor is that even possible ? , a dunmer on the throne sounds that strange... probaly with a 'civil'-war or an assault on the imperial city

I would say the Champion of Oblivion. No, no, not in any way the most physically powerful, but politically. (S)He is not really a politician, but after "defeating" Mehrunes Dagon, (s)he is very much beloved by the people. The figure heads of what the public deems succesful wars are often very popular. For example, Dwight D. Eisenhower would become the American president after the being the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe. I would not be surprised if Ocato tries to use the champion as a figure head to further his own political agenda.
Also, I would not be surprised to hear that there is a mysterious figure hiding in the shadows and who is the pupeteerof Tamriel. Maybe I just like conspiracy theories.

There's just one slight problem. The COC has turned into Sheogorath.

In todays world, there is a mad man, once one of the richest men in the world, who is supported by millions in his fight against a "Great Satan". As far as madness goes, Sheogorath isn't that bad, and with a good PR guy, the COC could turn his conversion into a plus. Don't know how the Dunmer would view one of their Four Corners ruling Tamriel ...

However, I am not completely ignorant and see your point.

Pelinal'ada!!! He's just so incredible, not even the CoC missed the opportunity to become him. In my opinion, who could be a better emperor? With his return, Cyrodiil would come full circle. He'll have my vote.
