Most Powerful Protagonist between Nerevarine, Champion of Cy

Clearly it's the champion of Cyrodiil, he's a Daedric God....

Who will try to make them go mad? Since he can't actually kill them lol

You're right. Lazy Sheo.
Why don't you go slap him across the face for being so helpless and lazy and see what happens. I bet he apologizes and begs for mercy, then you win cake.

I love slowfall, don't you?

Youre not making any sense, you say "its in skyrim" that the character in oblivion becomes a god, but I havent seen any evidence of this. Make sense, think before you write.

there is a quest when you talk to sheogorath he says "i was there when martin turned into a dragon ya know" pretty much saying hes the same person. But my theory is that he became sheogorath again with all of sheogorath's memories as well as his own.

You ready?

Spoiler
If you happen to find Sheogorath in Skyrim, he's no longer a unique daedra-human crossbreed like in Shivering Isles, but a Breton. (though nevertheless, he's invincible) If you talk to him, he alludes to the Gray Fox, to the Dark Brotherhood, and to Martin Septim. He says he was there when Martin sacrificed himself. In Oblivion he refers to the staff as the source of his power and suggests that "with time, you could become like me" when you question how the hell you're supposed to become a god.

If that isn't obvious enough, I dunno what to tell you.

Exactly, they'd have to go TO sheo for him to do anything besides manipulate there way to getting dova or nerevar defeated. Which I don't see happening

By your logic, everyone who has ever NOT killed you is weak.

There's a difference between being incapable of doing something God-like (because you're not a God and/or not powerful) and simply not giving a damn enough to bother doing something God-like. (because you simply have no motivation to)

The Nerevarine did not kill a real god, he just killed a mad immortal scumbag.
The COC Becomes Sheogorath, a Daedric god.
And Dhovakiin kills Akatosh's firstborn.

I have no idea how you could compare the power of these guys...

Nor can they kill him. We're talking about who's more powerful, them three fighting each other. Why would the nerevarine fight the dragonborn anyway? Anyway, the only immortal being on the list is the CoC, the others are just gifted mortals.

I think bringing game mechanics into the discussion cheapens the argument. There are OP things in each game (levitate, spellcrafting, enchanting, etc) but that doesn't define the character. Every new game basically retcons what is known about the world. It is not like the the Dragonborn can read a book on Oblivion and say "darn if I was a hero back then I could craft my own uber-spells".

You should assume a neutral game engine environment when comparing the three. In fact, we shouldn't even consider the SI expansion because Skyrim hasn't gotten any expansions yet. Who knows what the Dragonborn ultimately becomes?

Using all of that criteria it really comes down to the Nerevarine and the Dragonborn for me. Both of them are greater than mortals, and the fated heroes of their stories. The CoC was the fated hero's helper and bodyguard, his only prophecy was to make sure Martin got to the church on time.

My Nerevarine could take on my Champion and Dragonborn at the same time and still win.
He could fly, summon a lot of daedra at the same time and create potions that turned him into a god.

well nerevarine becomes an immortal "untouched by age and disease", also a chosen of azura making him an immortal as well. Sheogorath can constantly try to attack him and he can constantly keep killing (banishing) sheogorath back to the shivering isles, but it could be a battle to last an eternity.

Dragonborn.

Dragons are Immortal
+
Dovakiin Can kill Dragons
________________________
Win.

Champion of Cyrodill wasn't that powerful, just heroic.
I don't remember much from Morrowind, I haven't actually played through the Story line since it first came out, but I don't remember being that special or powerful.
Dovakiin gets shouts, can kill Dragons, blessed by Akatosh, killed the first son of Akatosh (as far as we know). I think he/she wins.

Nerevarine is immortal in that he can't age or get sick. If you stab him though, yeah he friggin' dies.

- Champion of Cyrodiil = Well, I always assumed that what you took over Sheogorath's role, you don't actually become a God but have the title of Mad God and have an extended influence over the Shivering Isle - like Sheo's second in command while he is away on vacation. In the main story, you didn't do much expect run errands for the TRUE hero in my opinion.

That's so true, it's funny that most people don't realize that small detail. Even in Skyrim when they talk about the Oblivion crisis, they never mention your character, they mention Martin as the hero who saved the world. You're character was nothing more than a errand boy/girl for everyone with influence in Cyrodiil. The nice change in Skyrim at least is that everyone with power respects you to some extent, seeing you as an influential being, even if they don't like you.

Just because you don't get advertised, does not mean you weren't an integral part of the whole.

Dovahkiin = Blessed by Gods

Nerevarine = Like a God

Champion of Cyrodiil = Is a God

Yes I read your comment about Sheo, but we're talking Lore, and in the lore, he becomes a god.

This. There's no competition.

The champion of Cyrodil becomes a Daedric prince; he's truly immortal and has the powers which come with being a daedric prince.

EDIT: dragons and the neverarine are immortal but can still be killed, the champion of Cyrodil has become a daedric prince, he cannot be killed.

It'd get rather boring being the savior of all mankind in each game, wouldn't It? Daggerfall goes the same way, though.

No, I don't deny that the CoC did play an important role in the Oblivion crisis. However, only Martin could open the portal to paradise and only Martin could mantle the power of Akatosh and defeat Dagon. Sure, we helped him do that, but he was the one who ultimately saved Nirn. :)

True, but if you remember none of his god powers worked outside of the shivering isles, so he could constantly get banished back to the isles and not die, but if he cant actually kill whoever it is hes fighting, he'll eventually just have to give up.

Seriously people.

Champion of Cyrodiil IS NOW A FREAKING GOD. And not one of those squishy Aedra gods that can die; no, he's a Daedric god. Y'know, the ones that have yet to be killed by anyone or anything, and the type of god that helped Nerevarine get as strong as he is.

"Ya but lyk dovahkiin ken lyk shout rly loud at him n stuff"
No [censored]? My girlfriend's four year old niece can shout really loud too. Doesn't mean I can't kick her ass in a fight, or that I'm gonna shield myself behind her if the devil himself appears in my house.

and yet that swiftly becomes irrelevant as the CoC becomes a freakin' daedra. Even aedra such as Akatosh can be killed, daedra cannot. There is no protagonist more powerful than the CoC in his current form.

Daedra's cannot be killed but they can be banished. That's a good point. Even if you're a daedra but if you get defeated easily, there's nothing left much to do. I don't remember the original question though... was it "who kills who?" or "who defeats who in battle?"

EDIT:

The question simply was "who is the strongest". Too vague for me, because it'll instantly be biased towards Nerevarine and CoC, who are both basically immortals.

I want to know who wins in one single battle.

I need source on that! I had no idea that Aedra could be killed... and Daedra could not? Aren't the former an evolution of the same primal spirits come to Mundus?

Dovahkiin got the shouts, the Champion of Cyrodiil got Spellmaking and the Nerevarine got Levitation. I'd say it's a tie there.

Dovahkiin is the Hero of Prohecy, with the deeds of the Champion and the Nerevarine building up to this. So I'd say that Dovahkiin wins there.

Dovahkiin is blessed with the power of Talos and Akatosh, the Champion is blessed by the Nine and the Nerevarine is blessed by Azura. I think the Champion wins there.

So far, Dovahkiin 2, Champion of Cyrodiil 2 and the Nerevarine 1.

In a fight, I think Dovahkiin would win as he can shout in addition to other means so...

Dovahkiin wins.

but COC can wield a 2handed weapon AND use a spell at the same time. so its 3DOV- 3COC- 1NER.

the nerevarine is blessed with an immunity to all disease, and also because of the corprus cannot age. +2 for nerevarine.

so far, the count is 3COC- 2DOV- 3NER. any more points to be added?
