My vote goes to the Dwemer: a race that was toying with the remains of a god, arrogantly trying to become gods themselves. Sounds like a group of people who would look down their noses at just about everyone.

The altmer are practically trying to do the same (become gods themselves), the dwemer just had more initiative. For the mer (save for dunmer), they're hung up on the past, and want to go backwards in order to be awesome gods they believed themselves to be before the creation of Mundus.

Also, the altmer practice eugenics, heavily, on top of their other xenophobia.

But that doesn't regard racism. The Argonians, for example, hate the Dunmer for being evil slavers. I would think it's a legitimate reason for hating them, and not racism. You have to actually look at the reasons behind the hatred.

Everyone is racist against Orcs, simply for being ugly. I mean, they can't help it. Look how long it took for them to just be accepted into the empire!

What about every altmer in Morrowind, who greeted anyone with a demeaning tone and an air of superiority. Plus, that guy in the beginning of OB was some ass in jail, not close to an accurate representation of the general dunmer population (though, I will admit the dunmer did carry xenophobic tenancies quite a lot).

Altmer, however, they civilize their hatred. Look at what they're going recently, trying to establish the Aldmeri Dominion to basically prop mer way above everyone else and anyone who they view as tainted mer. While the Imperials were partially guilty of this, it's not going to be at the level the altmer purpose.

At least the Cyrodiils are businessmen. Give the nords the world, and you'll see a much smaller elf population. Give the world to the altmer, and you can expect men to be wiped out, dunmer either wiped out or enslaved, and anyone that isn't an altmer works the coal mines.

hey, lets be fair here, many altmer (anyone who tolerates other races or their ideas, anyone living outside of the summursets, anyone who doesn't look absolutely perfect, anyone whose parent's weren't absolutely perfect, etc.) would be working in the mines too. can't have them polluting the gene pool.

The white man, who else is anywhere near as "oppresive" as the Imperials? Look, manifest destiny out the wazoo, oppresion of other races, kahjiit and argonian obviously. Pushing the dunmer down, using the bosmer and altmer. The nords are the only ones they really consider equals.

No. The only thing Tiber really did was walk over to a providence, ask if they want to join the empire, if they don't they invade and take it over, but never really forced anyone out of their land to build Burgerus Emperorus. Hell, even the empire after TS didn't really do much in the whole oppression and force people into reservations thing.

Dunmer are xenophobic, racist pricks. Imperials, while corrupt and two-faced, at least give a degree of autonomy (sometimes it is high) to its provinces. Dunmer, on the other hand, would like to enslave everyone. They treat other races like shi* and Morrowind was the last province to abolish slavery (with much opposition - that's part of so-called "tradition", after all). Most of them believed in Tribunal (i.e. traitors who made themselves godlike for quite a while) and were guided by the Temple, an oppressive institution in itself. They despise necromancy, yet they summon ghosts and skeletons to guard their tombs.



Altmer are terrible, too. In fact, they are similar to Dunmer in many ways, even if they won't admit it. Although xenophobic and haughty, they seem to get back to their senses, with young Altmer protesting against birth control etc. For me, they are just a more "civilised" version of the Dunmer.

A small group of young Altmer are assassinating royalty and tearing down monuments, I think they call themselves "The Beautiful". Anyway, many Young Altmer are becoming much less xenophobic. Some people will die, that's for sure. However, the problem with young, eager revolutionaries is the fact that they don't realise that by killing royalty they will only slow down the process of High Elven society becoming more open-minded.

Definitely, if they solved things in a less violent way people might be more open to the idea of change instead of seeing the revolutionaries as murderers and people who don't think before they act. It generally doesn't give them a good reputation. (obviously)

I wonder what effects this will have on Altmer in the future games.

Summerset Isle would be the perfect place for TESV, BTW. Lots is going on out there and it's not connected with the continent, so no "invisible walls" problem.

I really would love to see Summerset. I think it has great culture and lore, and we can hope to see a lot of grey morality. Slavery may even come back, what with the fall of the empire. Perhaps even the Aldmeri dominion? Summerset has great potential for lore. My personal favourite, too.

The Imperials. They may not be as openly oppressive and sharp-tongued as the Dunmer, but damnit unless we bring the Empire down once and for all they'll have turned everybody into a culturally uninspired sissy cosmopolitan by TES VI! Down with the Empire!

EDIT: Well, I liked the Redguard-era Imperials. Now they're just boring and turn everybody they come in contact with boring.

The Dunmer are those most racist because they hate every other race. Altmer are a close second because they do not hate other races, instead they think themselves to be superior to "lesser" races.

Khajiit and Argonians are tied for third since they each hate the other beast race but not other races.
