The Dawnguard sent me to kill him once so I would say yes.
The Dawnguard sent me to kill him once so I would say yes.
Could be. Kinda sad that I trusted a vampire more than that rather grumpy indivdual. Not that I think he's shady, it's just his personality. I did have to commit a couple minor crimes to finish that quest and in the process lost a place to buy lumber. Never asked Isran if he needed help with anything again as well. I went back to collecting Dwemer schematics. I love those quests, they stir up the Morrowind nostalgia.
So, in all my playthroughs, (not many, admittedly, I play each for a very long time) I have only run across the old orc that wanted a 'good death' one time each. Until now. I have run across him twice so far in the short time I've had my new character Ake. Is this normal? The first time she couldn't do it, but the second time, something struck a chord within her. She was sad and afraid, but with Uthgerd's help, gave him his good death. It felt awful, and I hope she doesn't find another.
I always thought this was a one time encounter!
if you don't kill him you will run across him multiple times. I have lead Dragon's to him... now their is a good death!! ( giant's to....but well ,not as fun to watch)
My other characters always gave him what he wanted, but they understood more as warriors. Ake doesn't understand yet.
If you don't give an Orc what they want the first time they ask, It is always a lot more painful when they TELL you, the second time
You mean when I chop of his head?I thought that was quick and painless.And he always begged for mercy once he went to his knees.I guess that would count as a second time.
I have a couple of playthroughs where he seemed to be on every corner. This may be because I just looted his Cats (free animal parts!) and ran on
Those were sometimes my first sabercat parts.
Yeah, I usually see him half a dozen times - this time I've only seen him twice: once between Solitude and Dragon Bridge (right by the fork where the road turns to go up to Meridia's Temple) and once near Helgen. And no, I generally don't kill him....
Uh, I did that this time, Ake is a hunter after all.
(and I love Hunterborn!)
Hmm, then if she sees him again she'll leave him and his dead cats alone.
It's a kind of RP thing with me: you DON'T help some orc commit suicide, because Malacath may not like it....
I've discovered crossbows.
I love crossbows. Pew, pew, pew, Vampires!
Not sure if this is in the spirit of the thread, but here goes... I've recently discovered, rather to my annoyance, that the mod "Cutting Room Floor" changes the textures associated with the Alteration -flesh spells (Oakflesh, Stoneflesh, etc.). Like, a lot. So much so and in such a way that I thought my game was glitching out. I've had CRF installed for a while and I've played quite a few Alteration-using mages with it, but I only noticed tonight because, for some reason, LOOT placed CRF near the end of my load order. I have another mod that changes up those spells a bit; apparently, it was overriding CRF's changes as well. Putting CRF above that mod gave me back the "boring" blue sheen that I like so much more...
How did I figure out it was CRF to begin with? I Googled "Skyrim weird alteration texture," and the first thing that popped up was another mod, "True Alteration Armor," which in turn pointed me to CRF.
Ugh.
Modders, I love ya and all you do, but sometimes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAS7ItsZ3jE&t=0m24s...
yeah... I kinda like them myself!!! do some of those side quest's for DG... the ones for the scemantics.... you'll like your crossbow even more.
My latest discovery is a whole new encounter. After all this time in the game, and for the first time, my healing conjurer alchemist was approached in Windhelm by a student of magic who wanted help with wards. A quest appeared in my journal to put up a ward, and he threw some flames for practice. He was happy, and felt he was once again ready to return to the college.
Also, Avrusa Sarethi (Dunmer nirnroot farmer in The Rift) is showing interest in my alchemist (also dunmer), and might be a potential wife if he plays his cards right. I never knew she cared
Tee-hee! Wait until you get an Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow with Chaos Damage and Fiery Soul Trap Improved with 100 Smithing going!
-ahem-
It can get better.
Malacath looks after his "old Orcs."
I was on my way to Morvunskr when I found the old Orc just past the bridge heading towards Mixwater Mill. My devious little mind thinks, "hmmm... Orc on rocks above a waterfall + Unrelenting Force = Fun!" Well, he did go flying over the edge. But he landed in the water and started to float downstream. By the time he reached the mill, I could see he was still swimming and my "fight music" ended. I ran down to meet him and was back to the "Talk to the old Orc" option. I think Malacath judged I was "cheating"
Vigilant's of Stendarr do not like when you cast Courage on them.
I decided to take a stab at duplicating the Bloodskal Blade's shootey wave effect with a http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/586918/? that shoots sun damage waves. While picking apart how the Bloodskal Blade works, I discover that its own red shootey wave things do bonus damage to Zahkriisos, the apocryphal dragon priest also in the barrow.
The script in question, appended to the MGEFs for the wave projectiles:
Scriptname DLC2BloodskalBonusDamageVsZahkriisos extends ActiveMagicEffect
Actor Property DLC2RR03ApocryphaPriestRef auto
int bonusDamage
Event OnEffectStart(Actor akTarget, Actor akCaster)
if akTarget == DLC2RR03ApocryphaPriestRef
pickDamageBonus()
akTarget.DamageAV("Health", bonusDamage)
endif
endEvent
Function pickDamageBonus()
int playerLevel = game.getPlayer().getLevel()
if playerLevel <50
bonusDamage = 30
elseif playerLevel >= 30 && playerLevel <50
bonusDamage = 50
elseif playerLevel >= 50 && playerLevel <70
bonusDamage = 50
else
bonusDamage = 50
endif
endFunction
Huh. Never even occurred to me to use it on him. Then again, two ebony katanas with enchants seemed to work fine.
