Most Stupid Mistake

Post » Fri Apr 16, 2010 4:34 am

What's the sillest mistake you've made in game.

I fell into the sewers at Old Olney at level 6.
I knew exactly what was in there... but I totally forgot once you fall in, yer walkin' through. `?_?

Tried to toss a grenade through a door way...
It hit the top of the door frame, and rebounded back into the room I was standing in.

I tried to run, but didn't quite make it.

Ooooh, I've got PLENTY of these. XD

Dragging Dogmeat through a tunnel full of Mirelurks at level 5. He will be missed. ;v;

Touching the Tesla Coil twice. NEVER. AGAIN.

Walking STRAIGHT through the Crazy Guy's alley. About six times. |D; I didn't know what was happening so I thought it was just random.

Leaving Charon alone while I walked around the Lincoln Memorial. Poor guy was swiss cheese by the time I got around.

Forgetting to put on a Stealth Boy while trying to steal the key to the slave pen. "Hey I can get to those kids now OHSHI--"

Letting Fawkes come with me to get the Reilly's Rangers. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THEY DIDN'T LIKE SUPER MU--- wait.

Forgetting that traps existed after the Light Step perk. In memory of-- Dogmeat's Puppy, Fawkes, Charon, and Star Paladin Cross.
SERIOUSLY. I diiid reload the saves after they died, though. XD;

Putting down the controller and listening to the music for a little bit, and then coming back to the screen to see that half of my face is chewed off and my followers are giving me an evil look.

Forgetting to bring the Ghoul Mask EVERYWHERE. Damn Reavers.

Then all of those times I blindly followed the quest marker and ended up smacking into a wall.

It works on Reavers?!?!?!?

I fatman'd myself in the face... well what actually happened was I fired and it hit a car. By the time I landed I'm pretty sure I was a limbless torso.

I don't even use a Fat Man any more... I kill my self more often than the target I'm aiming at.
Besides, I have better uses for the mini nukes I find...

I think my all-time favorite blunder was falling off the raider overpass near Springvale.
I always get a chuckle thinking about what the raiders' reaction to it was...

It was when I was doing Waters of Life, about to finish it, after dying loads of times and finding it unusually tough I decided to change my view setting. I discovered I had zero armour on. I'd been running about for ..?.. I don't how long in my underwear. I had no saves within the quest where I had any armour on,.. I wondered why people were looking at me funny. :unsure2:

Dumbest mistake would probaly be my first time getting to the GNR building during the main quest when in my panic to kill the behemounth i completly overlooked the dead BOS troop and got killed because i did'nt think to run back into the school, the last swing knocked all but my head off and set me crashing into the GNR building's front door.
Close second would be all the times i'd go to a merchant to sell what i don't use just to remember when i get to them that i left all of the stuff i was gonna sell back at my house.

Giving Augustus Autumn the passcode to Project Purity. I always thought the Enclave was a bunch of morons for not just going through all of the three digit combinations until they found a working one, but if you just hand it over, well... you can see for yourself. t.t

Also, numerous instances where I thought I could defeat Liberty Prime in pitched combat. Never really worked out for me.

Because going in the control room will cause almost certain death due to high radiation levels, and they didn't know if the code was 3 numbers or 10.

The guy above me's got it. You can't just fool around in there.

And also, can you really expect Autumn to let you live? He's smart enough to know you're going to try and thwart the Enclave's plans.

Anyway, I can't think of any stupid moments that really stand out, but I activated the GECK... not good. My last save was quite a while back, too.

Can't really remember any, as I would just reload. :P

But just yesterday I shot my only piece of ammo left; a missile, at a charging Super Mutant Brute at level 6.

Whizzed right by him.

I just ran until I thankfully caught up with a caravan, who's guard eventually took down the Brute.

I often waltz into traps. Especially in the Broken Bow of Rivet City.. Also, just yesterday. :P

Edit: I also often fall of high structure's. The deck of Rivet City, high catwalks in Megaton, the balcony of Tenpenny Tower, you name it, I've fallen off of it.

Also, I sometimes get stuck in places I can't jump out of. I try and be cheeky by climbing ruins.. Bad Idea. I get caught between a couple rocks, then can't even move. Its the worst when theirs an enemy near by and I can't fast travel either. I have to drop grenades to blast me out of place, or just kill myself. :shakehead:

Same here!

Also at the end of the game..
Spoiler
When you're supposed to type in the password to start the Purifier, I didn't know what it was. So instead I just decided to go with Eden's method and used the modified FEV. :P
