Most 'praise' threads are locked for one or more of the following reasons.....

There's already an existing thread for praising the game. Better to have them all in one thread as most people will open a thread with their praise and then never post in it again.

Someone decided to railroad the thread by posting about the threads THEY are having and how everyone posting praise is a dirty liar or someone willing to ignore all the games problems. The thread goes downhill from there and gets locked because it would take far too much work and warnings to clean up. Same thing in reverse gets some complaint threads locked.

The Op of the praise thread decided to open by complaining about the complainers. Starts as flamebait and becomes a flamewar.

Pick one or more.

There are praise threads around they just get a little lost in the shuffle. Besides most people that might praise the game are also busy playing it, unlike someone with a complaint who tends to post to see who else shares that viewpoint.

That is a load of crap coming from a push-over. Did you ever think that maybe the complainers have a valid point, which is why there are so many complaints?

I don't think mods are intentionally locking threads. Most of them are locked because they are against forums rules and people are reporting spam.
IMO, constructive critics(whether you call whines or negativity) give more ideas and keep the forum more alive then praising the game or complaning about complainers?

You joined today. I seriously doubt you've spent all day going through several hundreds pages of topics to back up this assertion.

So far, from your posts I've seen.. you've joined merely to troll. Very odd.

"Bethesda are LIARS D:" Isn't constructive criticism. Neither does it give ideas when someone blows things way out of proportion and makes it sound like Skyrim is a slideshow that impregnated their cats and burned down their house. Honestly, I think this invasion of whiny new bloods are hurting the forums in comparison to the people telling them to shut the hell up. That's another thing. People shouldn't be too afraid to tell someone like that to stop complaining and start talking. This constant beam of black magic [censored]ery seems more like spam to me.

oh and just one thing to add, i understand that complaints add to awareness of what needs to be fixed, but most have already been stated. also i thought the forum was also to build a gamer community sharing the lore or what cool thing they have been doing.

It's no mystery. Topics in the Skyrim General Discussion forum are supposed to be about Skyrim, and the complainers aren't Skyrim. If you want to talk about Skyrim, either to praise it or to gripe, fine. Do it. If you want to talk about complainers or anyone else, then please take it somewhere else. It's as simple as that.

Oh! I'm saying that! I'm totally saying that. Things have been blown waaaaaay beyond the point of validity... and I'm saying the second thing too.

Yep, It`s a shame, because the few really constructive complaints tend to get the wrath of posters fed up from reading the really silly rants/whines. Often the positive threads get buried so quick amongst the negative ones that it just seems the boards are filling up with complaints, whereas it`s just the complaint threads are more popular for responses, be it sympathetic or in anger.

They get locked because most of them complain about complainers, which is not allowed.

How do the people complaining about Skyrim not have anything to do with Skyrim?

Believe me such threads affect valid critics worse as most of the creative ones are lost in these discussions. The community is vast matching the biggest MMO's atm. But a whiner to whiners also have to understand that people can be dissapointed and this is the only place they want to voice their concerns to the masses. Some simply register an account to voice their frustration and concerns. Their points valid, attitude abysmal, etc is not the important point. They give new opinions and add diversity. To me it means that they care about the game. In the end we are all on the same boat.

The thing is that people demand more than they should expect, sometimes more than is possible. Sometimes people find a little flaw they don't like and get on the forums just to complain about it. Sometimes it is serious and they do make valid points, but even then it has a chance of turning into a flame war. We are so quick to disrupt other people's happiness with the game, or quick to force our positive opinions on others. That's what it usually turns into, and that's why they get locked.

i know these are the rules. but maybe its time to change something. if there was a separate forum then there would be no complaint threads about complainers that have to be taken elsewhere( besides, where would you take these?)

Even better if the complaints could be turned into constructive criticism and put into the idea's thread. :celebration:

Most "praise" threads are actually complaining the complaints threads, so........

People just can't post a thread that only praises the game. They always have to say like "There are too many negative threads." before starting the praising part.

The points being valid is the whole point. Going on incoherent rants doesn't add opinions and diversity. To me, it means they certainly don't care about the game if they are just here to complain about how much they hate it, Bethesda, and Todd Howard because they couldn't count all seven thousand steps. Yes, we are all on the same boat, and we are now being weighed down by disgruntled old women complaining about how the weather wouldn't be so cold if someone else would just set all of the trees on fire. Frankly, we're taking on water.

You cant limit people's expectations. Why would you be disrupted with the game when somebody voices his/her concerns? If you love the game you love the game, its simple. Is it because when somebody points out a flaw you didnt know it was there and that now you see it? Just curious.
