Most unique dungeon mods?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:35 pm

The other day I downloaded a replica of the Scarlet Monastery dungeon converted to Oblivion from World of Warcraft. It was so refreshing and fun to play such an epic and different style of dungeon as I've grown so bored of the exact same dungeon over and over in the form of the caves, forts, and ruins. There really is very little difference between them! I searched TES nexus for more like the Scarlet Monastery and found only one or two like it, but overall it was mostly just more generic caves, ruins, and forts. Are there more awesome dungeon mods that bring something new to the table? Things I would love would be something like big non-claustrophobic castles, chapels, air fortresses, unique oblivion planes, giant haunted houses, anything of these sorts! Anything that uses new textures, new ideas, and bigger areas of play. Any good ones already out there?
I liked this one, but the dungeon part ended too quickly then became a player house.

first off, I would just like to let you know - for the future - there is a place for things liek this, called http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1079645-mod-psychics/ please post any future questions about if a mod exists there.

but as far as I can say....no, I have no idea. I did, while just browsing every mod in general (seeing what crazy stuff people came up with) there was a place called Box world which used only crates to make dungeons, houses, and an entire city...yes rather silly, but it is different.
I'll post a link here after I go find it again.

I actually have to thank you as well, because I took advantage of what you posted here...and I tried using the LS before, but everytime I download it, it tells me the zip file is only 3 mb and contains nothing (on the website is says the file is 318mb)

You need to go to "Mirrors" and download v14 full from the LS home site.

I did...I actually do read what peopel say first on the nexus page before downloading XD
because I got to watchout and make sure the requirements don't require SI (which doesn't matter as of right now, because in 2 days I should own my own copy of SI)

I went there, downloaded v14 (most appealing since you don't have to run ALLL of those damn patches) and IMMEDIATELY after hitting download, it tells me it is done, and when I uncompress it to view the readme...it tells me there is nothing to uncompress

Did you try downloading it again? Sometimes downloads fail, but those are usually 0KB.

Or try with a different browser? Maybe a download manager?

I've seen cases where there is an error and what the browser actually downloads is the 404 File not found error page.

You can also try right-clicking the link and choosing "save link as".

It is working for me. I should probably stop this thing from downloading entirely, haha. Do you have a downloads accelerator or something installed?

Edit: I am using Firefox; however, IE should work (as terrible as it is.)

well I am just going to open it to download LS and that is it. I hate using it...I use either Opera or Google Chrome (I recently discovered Google Chrome is better...it eats less RAM...Opera is INCREDIBLY safe to use, yes, but it is a memory hog.) (<---off topic)
I'll post an edit to let you know if IE worked

well right now its just just suddenly, magically, downloading 318 MB in less than a second...so I think it is working this time...maybe the author should put a note on his website only Firefox and IE are compatible to download it.

Well I suppose my Page of History dungeon is different. Old school style dungeon, so it not super pretty.

That is not necessary. Firefox and IE have been around longer. You should expect many sites not to have support for Chrome and Opera. Shoot, even Firefox is not supported by many big websites. I am a Chrome-Firefox user. I love both, but sometimes I am forced to choose between them. ;)

On planet elder scrolls search the name Edolsian (but clean the mods).

On TESNexus (or alliance) search the name David Brasher.

Both make great dungeon mods.

it doesn't take but a second to type
"Please use Firefox or Internet Explorer to download", and it would save a little frustration for those not capable of thinking that their browser is responsible for a bad download.
I mean, had it been a video, or a site that used a lto of flash or something of the sort, and it didn't work with Chrome the first few attempts, then my second guess would be my browser...but when it comes to downloading, it's not peoples first instinct to try switching browsers to download something (atleast I know it is not mine, and I am certain I am not the only one who would think the same)

When do you think was the last time that site was updated? Come on, you cannot expect people to predict the future? How did they know Google was going to come out with a new browser that would become popular? Seriously...

Edit: We live in an age of fast-paced, internet-based technological advancement. You want to use the latest and fanciest stuff, you gotta remember that everyone is not grabbing the new things at your pace. Companies are only just now starting to switch over to 64-bit architecture, and think about how long that has been out. ...I am stopping myself before I really start ranting...unless I am provoked again...dealing with my PC over LogMeIn is not good for my nerves...

I have no idea when the Lost Spires was release or how long ago any update was, all I know is I tried downloading it the first time and it didn't work, so I had to resort to using IE.

I mean if they don't update it anymore, then obviously it is pointless to say, but I don't know anything about LS except its suppose to be an "epic" quest mod. (and has an ass load of patches for the previous 13 versions)

Dude, that mod is so final. Just look at the last update date on TESNexus, and that does not even tell you the last time something was actually updated. That was probably an image added or something. The last version has been out for nearly a year. Google Chrome has only recently moved out of complete beta status.

Chrome works fine for downloading The Lost Spires, unless something changed in the last 48 hours or so. Were you downloading from TES Nexus or their main site? The Nexus version, as written in the description, is just patches.

Usually when a browser won't download a file it's because the file type association is screwed up somewhere. Instead of downloading the zip, the browser may be trying to open it as an html file or something.
