Most unlikely... medium operative. Light for behind the lines work. Heavy to keep the lights off your team.

Yeah i feel the Ops will be at extremes more then balanced (medium)

oh Light Soldier will be EPIC in the right hands....armor upgrades, health upgrades, CP buffs (double if Engy has boost Cp upgrade), Medic Buff... and they could live longer then everyone is thinking. Plus all the explosives and special ammo so yes it will be awesome

Weird because that sounds effective to me.

Really? I guess it actually does make a little sense since Engineers can buff the damage of their own rifle, making it more effective. How's a Heavy Medic with a Long Rifle and a Grenade Launcher? What use is a Medic trying to pick off enemies from afar with absolutely no ammo or damage benefit?

Unless he was in a good spot so that any teammate could come get to him but that is being optimistic. Besides he will heal soldiers and engineers who will likely return the favor.

Well, a heavy medic with a grenade launcher is probably a good thing, a medic with crowd control is great, and a Droganov (sp?) seems like a pretty good second weapon to me. Maybe not with the scope on it though.

And having ammo isn't a problem for the medic because he should be near people that can buff and refill his ammo.

He should know. He's been the de facto Light Op since pretty much the beginning, and I've been explaining the usefulness of Heavy Ops since the first time I heard someone say they would be pointless, once upon a time. I agree, I think Medium Operative will be the least common combination, outside of rank 1. Which is too bad since it sounds like it would be an extremely useful combo. Still able to get to most places pretty quickly, yet tougher than his Light counterparts, and with the ability to wield shotguns!

It's pretty much useful with all 3 sizes.

Light Op: Gets to the objective faster.
Medium Op: What you said; tougher, but slower.
Heavy Op: This Fricken huge guy can lead his entire team to the objective.

That's what makes Brink so great; so many possibilities.

Now that I think of it... a light soldier might be pretty cool!
anybody read World War Z?
Sandlers!
named after Adam Sandler, y'know, "Water Boy" which would make him "Ammo Boy"
zip around quickly and give teammates ammo!

it sounds perfect!

I probably won't see many Heavy Operatives, Light Medics, or a Heavy using a nade launcher/ pistol combo.

A Light Operative running around-

Anyways, I don't expect to see a Light Medic running around with an AR not healing people.

Light people can't carry assault rifles, unfortunately. That's why I'll have to be a medium soldier: I like longer-range firefights.

Light Medic seemed like it would be a popular choice, guess not. I guess I'll be one of the few Medic Snipers running around. What people have said are unlikely combinations are the ones I thought of first.

Medic Sniper? I suppose that could work if you were, I dunno, hanging back sniping at targets and covering your teammates, then nipping in when someone went down and nipping back out again or making teammates fall back to your position for health. Yeah, that's plausible. ^_^

After a while of the game being out, assuming the balance is right, I don't think any size/class combo will be underpowered enough to be very "unlikely."

People will find their experiment with a strange-seeming class fun, and surprisingly effective. Copycat players will pick up on this and try it out - some will be good at it, others will move on to the next "flavour of the month" build when they realise it doesn't work for them.
---
Medium Operative - Wraith's guess - Shotguns and ARs on a decent-speed sneaky character? I can see the usefulness. You have a decent amount of health (especially when buffed), and march up next to an enemy Heavy who's parked on the objective.

"Hello, friend!" Shotgun to the face, sidestep before his Minigun can cycle up, second blast, keep strafing, third shot is incap, Hack Comms, kill, Disguise, enemies come to check on the objective "Nothing to see here... I'm guarding the objective. Honest!" Enemies walk away thinking it's fine, then you hack the objective once they're gone.

Or there's the other route of taking AR/SMG and keeping yourself at mid - long range most of the time. The SMG is a backup in case you're running low on AR ammo, because you're going to operate behind enemy lines for long periods, killing, Disguising, CP stealing, Firewalling, only falling back when you need a Medic, or a FULL resupply - if you're staying out of trouble, avoiding direct confrontations, this shouldn't be happening too often.
---
Another guess is the Heavy Medic - but seriously, you get 2 - 3 Heavies - Medic and Soldier, and an Engineer as a third - you're not going down in a hurry. Medic buffs health, Soldier provides ammo, and if you've got an Engineer, you get Armour and Gun upgrades as well - possibly with a Turret on top of that. You have up to 4 heavy weapons, 3 of which do extra damage and are firing from mobile bomb shelters.

Or if you're the only Heavy, and you're a Medic, camp the current objective, guarding it, and preventing anyone who helps you from going down. If you have to kill or destroy something, easy, you have big guns, they always help. If not, kill anyone who comes close, then revive them if it was a mistake.
---
I think the only real "unlikely combinations" are going to be Size/Loadout combinations that are unusual - like the Heavy dual-SMG option - or a Medium with LR/Machine Pistol (Why take the Pistol when you can have SMG or AR without any speed disadvantage?)

Remind me: 'firewalling'. I guess this is something an operative can do protect friendly turrets or command posts, but I don't actually know. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks ^_^

Yes. Makes it take longer to steal the CP. Don't think there's an effect on turrets.
