Eh, I don't think any states use the Chair anymore. I think the only valid forms of execution still in use are lethal injection, firing squad, and hanging.

But like I said before, while this monster deserves the death penalty, giving it to her would just be a double whammy to the husband. Something I don't think he really needs right now.

nope, no more chair since sometimes it was ineffective so lethal injection will do unless she wants a firing squad which you can request.

Wow, that's kind of f'ed up. I can kind of understand why she did it though, raising autistic kids is a real challenge

What? You can understand why she killed her own children just because raising autistic kids can be a challenge?!

[censored] her, she can rot in jail for the rest of her life for all I care, worthless [censored].

no a few states still use the chair, and hanging is no longer used, i think the last hanging was in like 1908 or something. i saw a video of it on the history channel once.

Well, in use yeah. But hanging is still the punishment for stealing a horse in Texas.

This law hasn't been changed.

What exactly made you think this would make for a good topic, rmctagg?

It gives people an excuse to say some other really [censored] up stuff and believe it's justified. He'd make a good reporter.

But just because an execution method isn't used anymore, doesn't mean it can't be used. But hangings have always been done for particularily touchy crimes, usually relating to politics/betrayal/things like that. Cause it's a dishonorable way to die.

http://www.chacha.com/question/can-you-still-be-hanged-for-stealing-a-horse-in-texas. hangings are in use but the number is very low. i was reading some case studies at school and it talked about all forms of execution still in effect. but what this women did is far more sick than stealing a horse so i can easily see the death penalty for her.

Question: How often do women get the death penalty, and then have it actually followed through?

i think they should make that her form of execution, she desereves no less.

Hung, drawn, and quartered? That's was only for treason. It was first done on Davydd ap Gruffydd, brother of Llewelyn ap Gruffydd, last Prince of Wales.

If this woman gets the penalty, which I really don't think she will, it will be lethal injection unless she requests a firing squad

Life can be so fragile and unforgiving sometimes. Squeeze it a bit and you might find something of value, but squeeze too hard and you're just going to end up with someone dead.

well http://www.lexingtonprosecutor.com/death_row.htm it talks about just Kentucky but on a pro death sentence state standard im pretty sure those numbers will remain close.

The first thing that came to mind was simply "Why didn't she just hand them over to child services, and then get happily knocked up again if she's such a ditsy broad?"

not a nice way to wake up..

Oh my [censored] god.

That [censored] needs capital punishment. Murder is bad enough. Two murders is worse. But murdering your own [censored] children? [censored] her.

The mother was obviously very [censored] up, but I have to agree with this sentiment. I think some of you take for granted living in a functional family in a "normal" existence. Unfortunate the kids had to die, hope the husband copes alright.

EDIT: I find it ironic that some of you say this is such a tragedy and that forced sterilization is bad, and then you call for the death penalty and hoping that she suffers during it. Way to be better people.

EDIT2: Are all the mods asleep or something? I'm astounded this is still open.

The death penalty dosent kill kids, alsoits usually used on those who think you can just end a life, if she thinks its ok to kill kids for not being "normal" im sure she will see why we are killing her for being a psychotic killer.

She's not making the decision though. We are. The "normal", "good", "moral", "correct", people are deciding she is unfit to live. Who says we have authority over life, or that we're justified?

I wouldn't be surprised if the second child was the "other kid" that she hoped for the best with.

I believe that to be the case as well.

I hate the majority of the human race. :shakehead:

Don't worry, unless these scientists stop wasting time on meaningless things, and actually make it possible to live on Mars, humanity is doomed in 3-4billion years ;p.

In the mean time though, you're stuck with humans til death ;p.

Hah, i'd be damn surprised if we were here after another 3-4 hundred years.

There was a case like this here in Finland some years ago too, a mother drowned her two "normal" babies. I think she got few life-time imprisonments (we don't have death penalty here). Stuff like this happens, but you have to remember it is quite rare. And this sensationalizing media isn't helping things, it's shame there's no market for good news.
