Im using Vista as an operating system , and have for a couple years at least. This problem however is very new. What happens is I go to turn off Windows sounds (like, clicking audio when clicking on back/foreward arrows.) and open up the launcher (just so its clear, there is no issue in the game and this causes no ill effect except the sound.). If I hit "Data Files" it immediatly BEEPs from the motherboard. If I try and select/deselect any mod, it immediatly BEEPs from the motherboard, every time....
...If I then load the Construction Set with just the main Morrowind file, it will beep every time I clikc on just about anything.

The whole reason I turn my sound off is because i find computer noises aggrivating and painful. This is far worse. I can make it stop, by turning windows sounds back on. Which would make me annoyed with everything else.

How can I fix this maddening event?
