i have fought my way through most of mothership zeta with little to no problems apart from fallouts tendency to crash after 2ish hours play time. However i now need to use the teleport to get to the bridge for the finally of the DLC but i cannot use it or the previous teleport for that matter! it is red and therefore active but does not work it sais click x to activate but just makes a noise at me and not alot else.

please help me or share your knowlege if you experienced or are experiencing the same problem. i have done some research and so far have not found any others experiencing this problem withought a recent save file to go back to it would apear i have many gaming hours wasted!

Have you tried re-loading from where you are now to see if it fixes anything. This really is a classic of save often, its really important I saved like every 30 seconds towards the end of my playthrough as the game got really glitchy. Or as ali would say try deleting your game data file from the 'game data utility' section in the game section of your XMB menu.

i have tried re-loading and no luck will deleting the game data file have any negative effects? (i have goty edition btw i fogot to mention)

No it wont, Its just a routine method used in the hope of fixing glitches etc. The game data is installed again when you load the game up so you get a fresh install.
