Mounted warrior in trailer.

this ^

From the announcement trailer, just noticed - its a mounted warrior isn't it? I circled him in red. Look at him chasing those poor-lings circled at blue, the skeletons imply also its a battle, i could also tell the horse is inside a battle by the look on his eyes, the horses eyes seem sharp and raging.
Also, I cannot tell for sure but it seems the horse is wearing an heavy horse armor, tho it could be the cracks and the stone making that illusion.

Hope I spilled some light, or did i?

EDIT: I know its only the stone wall of the prophecy, but they wouldn't put anything there without it being related to the game.(telling it by sense)

because, the prophecy is about whats happening after oblivion. Its not like im not reasonable.
I dont think the developers would put a man riding a horse in battle without it being related to the game.

Todd himself admitted in the GI Q&A that they haven't implemented riding mounts or mounted combat yet. They're working on it, but they can't promise it will be in the game.

So there you go.

Do you not remember the Oblivion picture on everything before release that showed a mounted warrior with his sword out?

Unless its actual gameplay footage, cant take it for granted.

What you guys saying is true and im not saying anything different.
I just say, the fact they are showing a mounted warrior is pretty much working towards the chance there will be such a thing in game :)

This. There are a lot of features, such as mounts and werewolves that are currently in development by BGS. Whether all these features actually make it into the game or not is anyone's guess. I would personally only want them if BGS feels that they would be quality enough to add to the entire experience of Skyrim.

Thats quite the leap to make, even more so when we don't yet know if we can even ride them.

For me,It's a stone wall depecting events and I shaln't be reading too much into it.

yea... I think that taking a DECORATIVE carving on a CGI wall as evidence that the game will contain it is... umm... not the best way to go about things. It is meant to be intense and decorative, so mounted combat (which happened in the Real World all the time) is only natural to appear for aesthetic reasons.

This is OT but I love the Centaur riflemen avatar.

If there was a Centaur race we would solve some of these mounted combat problems. :)

No, it's on topic. They're simply pointing out that a lot of the teaser pictures for Oblivion showed a guy on a horse wielding a sword, but the game didn't have any mounted combat. What we see here is a picture of a guy on a horse, but we don't even know if we'll be able to ride horses in the game.

I'm going to go ahead and say that the picture is irrelevant. The wall is simply a piece of artwork, and art in the game can take liberties when it comes to what it depicts. The art is supposed to depict things as they could be believable in the game world. Just because we might lack the ability to ride horses doesn't mean that the citizens of Tamriel must systematically burn everything that depicts a person on a horse.

I would say that the fact that they have confirmed carriages (most likely horse-drawn) and the fact that there was a horse in the trailer are both really good indicators that there will be mounts too.

Yes, it's been confirmed that there's a chance that it'll be in game. And even the presence of the horse in the trailer means nothing, since the trailer followed closely on the heels of Todd saying that they're still trying to get mounts to be workable.

There's also guys holding spears on that wall, but look where that got us.

Guy on horse on that wall doesn't mean we will be able to do mounted horse combat ingame whatsoever.

As Todd said, they are working on it. If it isn't as good as Red Dead Redemption's implementation by the time of release, Bethesda's just going to toss the whole thing out.

Ride-able horses im sure is a challenge for them to put in Skyrim but im a little more sure then not that it it will be in.

They are not going to half ass it for Skyrim not that they did (per say) for Oblivion, they'd rather not have it in Skyrim at all then it being ingame all ghetto if that makes sense. I personally hope that riding horses is not in the game especially if they don't implant mounted combat which with all bs aside that will not happen. Let me unofficially (as in no proof) confirm that there will be no mounted combat in Skyrim, natha, none, no mounted combat in the game period.

Riding horses is im sure a decent to high chance being in the game, they weren't that happy or excited with horses in Oblivion as Todd said in the podcast.

Example::
You walk in a nice house, with lots of nice furniture, a huge nice pool with a water fall but . . You have a couch that smells with tears in it that was a free give away sitting outside someones house wet from the rain. The couch works though! Yes, oh yes you can sit on this couch & hell it may even be comfortable lol but its as I said above straight ghetto & like why the heck do you have it in your $500,000+ house? Because it looks ackward, doesn't fit in with the rest of your house.

Well poorly animated horses are going to be really ackward compared with the rest of the animations in the game like the dragons. It's not as simple as copying & pasting the horses from Oblivion into Skyrim, that would svck if they did this just like id svck if there was a smelly couch with rips & tears all in it in your nice home.

Aren't Red Dead Redemption's horses next to perfect? What makes you think they wouldn't be satisfied with a "rather good" mount system? I mean we know they won't do it if it's no better than Oblivion's, but why do you think they will be satisfied with no less than the very best implementation ever?
