Mounting dragons?

Post » Thu Jul 21, 2011 7:45 am

Out right Denying isn't being Hush Hush FYI. There will be no riding of dragons. As for Mounting It all depends on what you mean by Mounting Dragons. Ride? Absolutely not? Put a Head above the Fireplace in the den? Don't know.

Impregnate? Well. you ARE the Dragonborn,,,

well call me crazy but i wont be surprised if it happens coz after reading all the interviews and such i feel like they're trying to hide something and its probably this.

This is exactly how I feel. People are trying to call me out saying it's a ridiculous thing that I personally wan't and gamers are never satisfied. This is not the case. I am not the one who wants dragon mounts, or the player morphing into a dragon. I think it is a bit ridiculous. I just think Beth is acting like they are hiding something, and that this may be it. Just because I started the topic does not mean that I will boycott the game if it does not include this feature. Dragon mounts or not Skyrim looks incredibly engrossing.

Never quite understood the fascination with dragon mounts.

I think it comes from recent trends in movies. Avatar and How to Train Your Dragon come to mind. The movies relied heavily on hero-like characters majestically bonding with these powerful creatures and then saving the world on them. It was not until these movies that people really started to take an interest in dragon riding.

It's been popular since Anne MacCaffrey books from years ago

Tharn you old Bastard! I've Missed you!

You forgot about the Eragon books. Those things silently sell millions of copies. The movie however... :sadvaultboy:

Still don't get it. Like, people positively CLAMOR for dragon mounts. It would be a "meh" feature at best once its novelty wore off.

First time: "WOO I'M FLYIN ON A DRAGON WRITIN IN ALL CAPS!"
Tenth time: "Woo. I'm flying on a dragon, using perfect punctuation and grammar because I'm so used to this dragon mount."

And people wanting their dragon/drake mounts from WoW in every game they play.

I don't play WoW anymore, but I do kinda miss just gliding around on my Ironbound Proto-drake sometimes.

That doesn't mean I want to see them in Skyrim.

I see quite a lot of this, actually. Not really genre-crossing, but more like people wanting LotR lore integrated into other kinds of sword and sorcerer fantasy. Things like that are strange, I feel. Is it so wrong to have mutually exclusive lore?

Yes, when it is something as overdone as dragon riding, and when it slaps the rest of the lore in the face

Dragons are NOT ponies, think of it as asking a Dremora for a lift.

Oh, I agree with you to be sure.

I would like to enter the Deadlands and ask a group of Churls to play pinochle. Or, you know, not.
