Mouse Acceleration Bug Back After Patch

Post » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:04 am

After the most recent patch on steam the auto/quick save bug was fixed. However the mouse acceleration fix became broken again. Whenever the FalloutPrefs.ini is edited to fix the mouse acceleration and made to be read me only, once you start the game that file becomes rewritable. This results in the mouse acceleration being present again. Once you exit out of the game and check the Falloutprefs.ini file, the read only box is unchecked again.

You probably missed a spot for the fix. The patch did not undo mine.

check out http://geekmontage.com/texts/fallout-new-vegas-game-fixes-crashes-audio-issues-lag-saving/. the section on the mouse issue lists all 4 locations you have to make the changes.

Cloud sync we know is broken and it keeps a backup of the fallout_default.ini file that steam keeps restoring and overwriting the default file. then if you patch or run the settings from launcher it will replace your fallout.ini and falloutPrefs.ini with settings from the fallout_default.ini. Convoluted and broken if you ask me.

there is a thread here with all of the fixes for the patch 2 mouse lag/acceleration issues, search for it.
