I was wondering if anyone could help with a problem I'm having with my mouse. Since the start of last week, when I move my mouse it would occasionally make a three-tone noise and sometimes followed by a five-tone noise. It also makes these same noises when I unplug the mouse or plug it in. The mouse I'm using is a MX 518 Optical Gaming Mouse by Logitech. It's been making video games a frustrating experience and any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like it's connecting and disconnecting from your computer as you move it around, which almost certainly means a hardware problem with the mouse. Try plugging in another mouse and see if the problem continues. If it stops acting up, it's time to replace your mouse.

ETA - forgot one important step. :facepalm:Check the USB connection to the computer and make sure it's fully plugged in first.

Also, if it's a wireless mouse you may consider trying fresh batteries.

I actually found out the problem as soon as I posted this thread, lol. I checked my devices and I had something called "HID Mouse Device" and when I removed it the my mouse now works smoothly again and no longer makes noises. Hope that thing isn't important. Thank you for help though.

That's the generic mouse driver that comes with Windows. As long as you have the Logitech drivers properly installed you should be good.
