Mouse Pointer appearing in-game

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 8:52 pm

I have a slight issue--when I move the mouse to the left whilst playing, the Windows-style mouse pointer will appear along the edge of the screen, and then move/react according to what I am doing with the mouse; but once I move it back to the right, it disappears again.

I'm running the game in full-screen mode, with a resolution of 1920x1080, and 16:9 aspect ratio. I've checked my drivers and they're all up-to-date, and this has only started occurring since I reinstalled Skyrim yesterday.

Any idea what might be up? It's a small issue, but bugging...

Edit: Just to add, this is occurring on a semi-un-modded game; only the Mod I'm working on loaded, which doesn't touch display/screen stuff in any way (It just adds new Spells/Abilities), and SKSE; so I don't *think* it's a Mod issue...

Edit : Just noticed it's at the top, too, but only if I look above a certain height... It's like the game has a 2-3 cm border on the Left and Right, where the game still displays, but suddenly the mouse appears when the cursor moves into that area.

Maybe another overlay?

What does a clean boot do? http://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-clean-boot-state-in-windows

Are you spanning desktops?

And is this occurring after you've alt-tabbed to another program window? If that's the case, open the console in the game using whichever key you have that mapped to before alt-tabbing, do what you need to do in email, browser, whatever then alt-tab back to Skyrim, and close the console.

If you have Raptr, Xfire or AMD Gaming Evolved installed, that can cause this too...

Try this too: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40706/?

Hi, thanks for the replies.

@Serethil,

Nope, just on straight-load, no alt-tabbing out.

@Jasper,

Not spanning desktops. I'll try a clean-boot if removing AMDGE doesn't fix it.

@Mark,

Yep I'm running AMDGE I think (pretty sure it installed when I did my drivers originally...) So I'll try and uninstall it.

Thanks again :) I'll let you know how it goes :D

Edit: Turns out I didn't have GE, but Raptr; uninstalled it and everything seems fine now! Thanks everyone! :D
