mouse smooth & accel

Post » Thu Jan 31, 2013 11:48 pm

I always had mouse smoothing and acceleration turned off, but lately I wonder how does it feel to play with those settings on.
When I just started playing, I tried to make those settings perfect, but just couldn't make right combination of values (mouse either flying all around, or not moving at all), and didn't have patience to experiment.

Code:
i_mouse_accel =
i_mouse_accel_max =
i_mouse_smooth =

Questions for C2 community members: Who uses those settings and what's your opinion on those. Is aim better or worse with those on/off? Any suggestions?

I'm gonna experiment with different smooth/accel settings because I have a feeling my mouse is sometimes too jerky and fast (even with very low sensitivity). Hopefully I'll make it perfect.

results of todays experiment:

i_mouse_smooth = 30-40 for perfect mouse feeling (for me),

and I just can't get what I want with mouse i_mouse_accel, because it sets opposite of what I need, it speeds up mouse when moving it slowly, and slows it down when moving fast;
I need slow smooth movement when moving slowly, and fast movement when I move my mouse fast (to make easier 180° turn when using low mouse sensitivity).
I would appreciate somebodys assistance with adjusting accel...

i tried it, but i couldnt get it, so i gave up. i try to set sensitivity. of course i give more concentraion optimal setting for aiming, but looking fast around is important too.

Lower you set the value for smoothing, the mouse seems heavier, but with 0 it's off. (though I don't know what's default value)
I was playing with 40 today, but I don't feel it much; now I've set it to 30.

I set all to 0 and works great for me. I have always used 0 or disabled in all FPS games and controlled all DPI and acceleration settings in my mouse software. I'm using a Logitech G700. Works best when I have full control.
