Movable Furniture 2 [done]

Post » Thu Aug 05, 2010 6:30 am

Furniture can be picked up, moved, and sold. As far as I know, no one owns it, unless objects inherit their ownership from the cell they reside in, whether or not they have it applied individually.

I made a version of this mod 5 years ago. It didn't have icons, and the readme svcked, and from the feedback I read, everyone hated the fact that there was a "shop". I'm enjoying morrowind again so I decided to release the "fixed" version- No shop, no buying. You have as much furniture as you could possibly need (respawns) inside of a barrel in Balmora so you don't need to "steal" furniture, in case you want some for your home. The barrel is near a wall next to the lucky lockup.

Installation is easy, there's no new models, no scripts used, and it's small in filesize

This is a free release: Use it anywhere you like, for anything you like, in any way you like, without any permission!

I find it most useful when you have a "home" that you want to customize, or if you run out of display space for all of your artifacts/collections, for example:

Sounds pretty damn cool. Dunno why anyone would complain about there being a shop. I always hear people complaining that you gather too muich money in morrowind, so it would make sense for you to have to buy stuff like this.

And im interested how you did this without scripts

Will take a look :goodjob:

Really simple, and to be honest I didn't really clean the mod up since it was for personal use, and personally, I think if you have so many mods installed that something this simple causes instability, you're probably having other issues. I don't really care about supporting people who have bloated morrowind mod lists.

It's not scripted because the chairs shelves and etc. are misc items. This does cause two events that could possibly be annoying. One of which is that you can grab it by accident and there's no confirmation dialogue, the other is that they are noclip for players. I do, however, like the noclip mode because it makes placing things on the tables and shelves much easier, and allows you to move past (through) chairs easier. Misc items can also use each others' models for placement, so shelves and tables do work correctly when you set stuff on them. I've done find and replace on static chairs so that they're now misc items.

Ah cool. :D I used your mod pretty often and I still have it too. xP

Glad to see you added icons. I think I'm going to add this into my personal "leveled clothes" mod so that furniture shows up from time to time in shops. Though, I guess this wont be in any clothing lists of course...
