move characters between 360 and pc?

Post » Mon Jun 14, 2010 2:00 am

Probably not possible with all the mods for pc, but if you could somehow play the same character between 360 and pc I would gladly buy a copy for each. Any possibility this could happen or am i just dreaming?

that would be so so cool cuz then you could try it out on computer but if you don't like it go back to your xbox or you could take your charachter to your friends house and play even if he plays on his character or he only has a computer.

Didn't they do something exactly like that for Pokemon (If thats the game I am thinking of). If so, there is tech available for it it is just a matter of time, money and ability to do the said task.

Tgl1992 I think maybe you mean the globe trade station but that's not the same thing it's just trading pokemon but with someone you don't know. also they always want like a Mew and offer a Pidgey lol.

Bethesda would lose some money if they did something like this, if you think about it. Some people will have multiple copies of Skyrim for different platforms. And I don't really like the idea that I can transfer a character from my PC to my imaginary Xbox 360. I'd rather have them spend time making the game Skyrim better.

You can move saves between 360 to PC but not vice versa. You just need a USB stick and a couple of programs.

No you can I have done it just yesterday with Oblivion. Just google it as I bet I can't link the program here. Yeah you need a usb stick or hard drive cable.

You can use commands on pc (basic ones) and then it transfers to your Xbox save. I have 5 horses in my upstairs room lol.

How would they lost money? Spend what time, the save information already works, as someone else has pointed out. Either way I think this is more a Microsoft/Sony thing, just like mods that would have to allow pc info to be use on there consoles.

Your going to have to have the dlcs on both platforms for it to work.

Yeah but you need a JTAG xbox to do that, which is pretty dodgy and illegal.

I asked Pete Hines about this on Twitter (head marketing guy for Beth) and he said there was no way mods on consoles where gonna happen for skyrim.

Todd Howard has said he would like it, but i would say Microsoft and Sony won't let it happen.

Well that's not really fair we should get them on 360 to but maybe not PS3 cuz there's no more PSN lol. But maybe they can sell some as a DLC? I have to go but let me know what you think and I can check it tomorow.

To be honest I'm not fussed because I will most likely be playing it on PC anyway and making my own stuff for myself.

The problem is most mods are not tested enough when they are released and as a console manufacturer I wouldn't want people
complaining at me for allowing it on my service if it corrupts your save or crashes your console. A sandbox editor is fine because
you can mess around in it and not break anything. Having to deal with scripts and new assets is much more complicated and
has a bigger power to cause problems. They would have to majorly dumb down what modders could achieve on consoles to
not cause too many problems.

Yeah i'm expecting to mostly play on PC, but working all day on a PC then gaming all night bothers my wrists and back. (getting older svcks). So when they're bothered it would be sweet to be able to play on the couch w/ the xbox. Hell i bought 2 copies of oblivion just because my pc couldn't do it justice at the time. I'd gladly buy 2 of skyrim.
