Movement Speed Issue

Post » Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:27 pm

Had a fairly smooth experience with F:NV so far but today I encountered something very frustrating.

Had fought a couple of Legionnaires and after picking up there Armour got Overencumbered. Crouched around for a couple of mins after that and then repaired all into one, lowering the amount I was carrying in the process. Crouched around for a couple mins more shooting oversized rams but when I stood up to run along I was running very slowly.

Despite not being overencumbered I'm still walking at reduced speed (ie. very slowly). Now the really funny thing is whenever I jump, after landing I run at correct full speed for about 2 steps and then it's back to snails pace again. Any idea how to solve this? On an earlier save the problem isn't there but unfortunately that one is several hours of gameplay ago (extended gaming session and forgot to save properly :( )

I was getting this yesterday. After changing weapons or something I would run as if over-encumbered. Opening and closing the Pip-Boy after each occurrence fixed the problem until next time I changed weapons. Hopefully after exiting the game when I load it up again it will prove to be a temporary problem.

There is a small glitch with this game and I don't know if you are aware of it but if your not this is what happens. Let's say you open your pip-boy and bump caps lock. Well you turn off your pip-boy and then press caps lock again to turn it off and now your walking and not running... to fix this just open the pip-boy and turn off caps lock and it should fix it. This happens to me all the time when Im not paying attention to what I'm doing. hope this helps

This is why I remapped the Always Run key.

Tried it and that was it, hit caps lock and all was fine :)

Gotta love these forums, first I find the dll fix for a framerate issue that I just thought was my computer svcking and now I get this answered readily and quick. Good job guys :D
