Well, Todd said he loves Conan and there is a bit of that in Skyrim so Conan. I don't know if he meant the movies or the books/comics or both.

Conan the Barbarian, the first one.

Excalibur.

Kingdom of Heaven.

Not sure what kind of movies you are looking for exactly but I would recommend the movie Troy, just watched it recently and thought it had excellent battle scenes.

I would watch Beast Master. It's a pretty awesome movie. It's more in a desert type land though. The main character reminds me of a Nord with a Bosmer ability to control animals. WARNING. Never watch Beast Master 2. Pretend it doesn't exist. <_<

Much more historically accurate and visualy tempting are the battle scenes of Alexander. Nothing to do with Skyrim though, but shows how the phalanx works.

I liked Troy too, especially Eric Bana's performance (not to mention the german beauty acting as Helen)

I really wasn't expecting that. I thought it was pretty awesome though :)

Spoiler
I was pretty pissed when they retconned him back to life in the sequel. But like I said, I pretend it doesn't exist :P

Centurion (you can pretend it's Romans/Imperials vs. Picts/Nords)

I recall it getting mixed reviews at the time, but that cgi Beowulf film that came out a few years ago seems like a good primer for "what Skyrim should feel like".

Well he was a central character. Those bat creatures were awesome, scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.

One film to watch if anyone has not seen it is Fire and Ice the animation. It was inspired by the fantasy artist Frank Frazetta and directed by Ralf Bashki. It's on You tube if anyone is interested. :foodndrink:

Officially on youtube? I'm going to watch that now! And yeah, those bat creatures scared me the first time I saw it about a month ago, and I'm 18! :P

I have a movie in mind, maybe you guys can help me recall it. I'm fairly sure it was a animated film, they were vikings and the only part I remember is them sailing their boat(s) in this strange crystal cavern that was apparently the way to Valhalla... I can't remember what it was called! Help me.

I second that. I even found me a Cloak Invisible! I just can't find it when I'm doing the laundry :P

The Norseman starring Lee majors (well okay, a crappy 70's film that was so badly edited it featured four mistakes visible in one single frame: Lee majors is leaning against the side of his viking ship with a wristwatch visible, another viking is wearing tennis shoes, in the background there are telephone poles and cables and there is a lorry going over a hill).

The upcoming Thor movie.

Willow was a fantasy film with some Scandinavian influences.

How to train your Dragon for the younger TES fans.

And Conan has already been mentioned, but what about Joe DA'matos cheap Conan knock-off Ator (the invincible) movies.

The Book of Eli. I was able to get quite immersed in this movie, whether it was the quality of the bud or the movie I don't know. Felt like a quest straight out of any tes game.

You all seem to be forgetting Outlander. It was a pretty good movie.
