Msg "Children cannot use this"

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:23 pm

Just started playing the game. On level "By a Camfire on a trail" we need to get some "Broc flower". When I try to pick teh Broc flower, i get a message saying "Children cannot use this" and i am unable to pick teh broc flower. Cannot move teh game forward without the flower. I this supposed to happen? What am i doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

Did you use some kind of mod or glitch to make your age into a child age?

This message came up in Fallout 3 if you modd'd your way out of the vault before you were grown basically. You couldn't use workbenches and stuff.

Like Linksman said, if you're using a child aged mod, it may be running the 'children cant use this' script.

If you are either too small or too big in scale, it can also give this message.

So wait, say I was a little person and made myself in my image. Hmmmm, I sense a new breed of complaint threads.

If you are on pc, use console command "set player.IsChild to 0" IIRC. I ran into this problem in Fallout 3.

Activators and furniture markers have a tick-box "child can use" in the GECK. If it's not ticked, a child cannot use it. Very few are ticked.

If you wish to play as a child, you either have to go through and tick every box (good luck with that!) or create a new race based on an existing child race, but not marked as a child (in other words, the game uses the child model for the player but treats it as an advlt). http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/ss132/JW1a/ScreenShot48.jpg
