Wow insults really... i mean i am kinda being melodramatic but i didnt resort to insults...
Wow insults really... i mean i am kinda being melodramatic but i didnt resort to insults...
even initial characters go to the city after the prison i had no characters this was a fresh beta for me as I registered my new email with my preorder last week.
I'm honestly trying to see things from your perspective here, but I'm having a very hard time.
Is the problem that you can't find your way back to the starter island? ..or is it simpy that it takes two minutes to get back there?
Out of curiosity then, how do you know what the old Coldharbor way was?
Edit: Nevermind, I assume you got a passed-along beta key.
Ok.. let me help you I have participated in like 4 weekend test including this last one, each time i played I enjoyed the game alot except for this last iteration of the game, there was a balance and flow to it. it dosent make since to just end up in a city at all maybe on a shore somewhere random but even thats fishy i mean how do you go from being in a dead prison going up a shaft back to the land of the living and now suddenly your in the middle of a city??? How did you get there? where was your body buried previously? did they remove it from the grave and place your rotten corpse in the town waiting for your spirit to return that is my perspective. The new start of the game feels like a badly written episode of "Lost"
This, yes its stupid to skip the starting island, had been smarter to just let you buy the ticket to get off it for one gold or something at the dock.
Yes this would take 3-5 minutes as you had to go from dump position to starting city.
However its not a huge issue, tried both the AD and Daggerfall starting islands and like both. AD starting island is interesting as its Khajiit territory. I would do it as its extra xp and skyshards.
But its don't matter much anyway, overall story lines in MMO tend to be pretty weak anyway.
Well previously I woke up on a boat. This time around I woke up on a boat. If I were to put two and two together I'd assume someone rescued me and brought me aboard.
You didn't answer my question though; what is the problem? The momentary break in immersion? Can you not overlook it and simply get on with your adventure? It just seems a little odd to me that you would waste hundreds of hours of gameplay, because of one brief opening moment.
And thats what happens when u dont listen to the dialogues, confusion.
Your on your own dude. A number of people have tried to help and hold your hand and tell you how to work your "issue" out. You called them trolls. Yes, you are being melodramatic and immature acting like a spoiled three-year-old. Good luck.
I'd personally prefer to go through the start islands just for the skyshards, why not? I also feel like a lot of people are exaggerating on the starter islands being bad, I found it perfectly fine playing it bit by bit with my friend while we talked. I feel like a lot of these people who gave bad reviews are just trying to turn ESO into a solo experience, MMO's aren't meant to be played that way they're heavily reliant on you engaging with other players.
what you just described is exactly how all elderscrolls single player games begin.
we are in a prison and we escape and end up in the woods or in a city, lost and confused and we work our way up the ranks and become godlike by using our mind and strength to grow.
it better never change! its the way of elderscrolls and the way to make yo feel GOOD from accomplishing the hard task of rags to riches.
its not a prison for the dead your already alive in skyrim/morrowind??
I agree with everything you said, other than the "they're not meant to be played that way" part. People play games however they like. Even the developers told their players they could still play this game solo if they wanted to.
So now you think the writers are what, lazy?
Some people didn't like the way it started, this we know. So ZOS very quickly, and when I say very quickly the time frame was what, less than two weeks from the negative feedback? changed it again, and again others this time didn't like it. There is no perfect game out there for everyone, the sooner you come to terms with this, the sooner you will be a happier person for it.
There is a game I've played in beta form called ESO, maybe you've heard of it. I've got it on order now as I liked it so much, no suprise to me though as I've enjoyed the other TES games before it. I'm looking forward to all this game has to offer and for the people I've meet on this forum who I also look forward to playing with in game, and while it's not perfect I can see myself calling ESO home for a darn good while. It might not be for you, but I'm very happy with it.
The old man said, one can land *ANYWAY* in Tamriel -- land, sea, city etc. The reason the old man summon a Skyshard to get you a body so that you can walk again Tamriel. Your char is soul less, but has a real body.
Thank you i must have missed that initially that answers that dilemma for me.
The problem was some angryjoes and shoddycasts didn't want to do the starter islands. They wanted the TES freedom. ok fine
What ZOS did?, instead of having an option to skip/travel from the starting islands to anywhere, they summon new characters in the big cities -breaking the story progression- ZOS did a poorly implementation of a supposed massive request
You know, that would actually be pretty cool if, as the Prophet says your character was transported to some random spot in Tamriel. (oh boy, let the [censored]in begin)
This exactly someone finally gets it. It isnt the fact they did it its the manner in which it was done.
I could chew this better than the city start tbh
