Sending them out early doesn't mean you can play it early. November 10 is when you can play.

What would stop you if you had a copy?

I assume your talking about PC and not console.

Yes, I'm talking about PC. Steam doesn't unlock until Nov 10.

Wouldn't know how a console works.

Panicked (exag) seeing the title. Thought there was a last minute delay.

AFAIK, they all work similarly nowadays: you install or download the game, a retailer (Steam, EA, Sony, Microsoft, etc.) activates it and you play.

I'd be surprised if this were true, Amazon are usually on the ball with game releases.

Amazon (Canada) has given me a ship-out date of Dec 7; still trying to figure that one out.

I'm picking my hard copy up at midnight on the 9th/10th, no early release for me.

Your Disc copy contains a steam installer and a small part of the game. The rest will be downloaded via steam.

Steam has been Bethesdas PC-DRM for quite some time now.

On console, if you have the game disc, you can play right now. Source: I have the game.

Steam has changed the release date of Fallout 4 today (See https://steamdb.info/app/377160/history/). It's now 24 hours earlier.

What's going on? Let's hope for the best.

Except you are on XBOX and PS4. Only we evil, evil, evil PC users are the ones who have to wait because we leak stuff all the time :) .

That was the update to the correct time for the release countdown. If you look at the store page, it should now be counting down to midnight EST instead of 3am (currently 6 days and 10 hours, may vary depending on your region).

If a console required activation, how are there so many leaked gameplay videos being uploaded hourly?

Pete just confirmed on https://mobile.twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/661573809301020672?p=v that the console versions are playable without downloading anything.
