Multiplas Rifle v. Plasma Caster

Post » Sun Jul 18, 2010 5:01 am

Title says all, so what will it be? The Multiplas with an outstanding critical with the cons of gobbling up your microfusion cells? Or the Plasma Caster with its high damage and fast degradation?

In my opinion, I prefer the Multiplas, just cause its basically a long-range shotgun capable of insta-critical-killing almost anything, even deathclaws on very hard.

gotta go with the multiplas for the critical rate. I think it has a pretty low strength req. as well. Maybe 3.

But I was never a fan of the big guns. Just too impractical, and the multiplas is already impractical enough.

i prefer plasma-caster due to its high end damage and extreme efficiency.

i carry both tho :)

(also consider the YCS ...it shoots just 1 more round at once than the Multiplas but does alooot more damage and can snipe from a long distance)

Actually, I found laser weapons more useful. Sure, damage per shot is less than that of plasma, but they fire more rapidly, allowing for more frequent critical hits.... which they do often.
Laser rifles with all 3 available mods are pretty brutal, from sniping to medium range.
For close up work, the Laser RCW is a monster.

However, Lazers are less useful in comparison to Plasma weapons in Hard~Very Hard mode, with the average Fiend able to tank a headshot with the Lazer.

Got curious, Just tested both for a while. Seem to kill at the same rate if you mod your PC, but with PC eating up much less ammo.

I have high crit.

Ahh, really? Were you using VATS or just targeting? I believe the damage-crit-factor outside of VATS is different and provides a higher damage threshold?
