1. No
2. NO
3. Yes. There will be 20 levels, but there will be 4 ranks (one every 5 levels). Ex: At Level 12, you would be at Rank 2.
4. Only one mode. Attack and Defend is a very basic way of putting it.

Did they give a reason for deciding to leave clans/clan battles out?

Intact Garden Gnome can u please cite your source on the answer 'no' for clan battles/clans.... Or if anyone else clan clarify that would be nice because having no clans/clan battles would be a huge let down for alot of people..maybe even a deal breaker...

well by clan battles im sure the guy means an in game system and im sure there isnt 1
as for clans this is the 1st im hearing of no clans at all, me and my clan are looking to picking up this game after we dropped KZ3
playing only SOCOM would leave quite a few on our roster without any game to play and Brink was suppose to be our next game, not having an in game clan match system was already a downer for many in my clan as pub stomping is not enough to hold interest and we are a competitive clan and private matches are a pain to get matches in anyway cuz u gotta find a clan willing to challenge, setup a time etc whereas in a game like socom u just click on a clan who is ready and challenge em to a match

why even have stopwatch in if they not supporting clan matches?

Only one mode? But different missions. You should clarify that. VIP, Bomb and Diffuse etc.

What like playing TDM over and over? It will be no different to any other game, my favorite GT on cod4 was S&D i would play just that mode over and over.

Surely the PC version will support clans and clan play, if you can run your own dedicated server and configure it to your liking:

The Brink Standalone Dedicated Server includes several different game configuration files covering all of the regular game modes, including campaign, stopwatch, objective, and co-op challenges. In addition, there are a variety of server-side commands available that allow you to further customize your server, including team sizes, time limits and overtime, warm-up rules, friendly fire, voice chat, availability of Command Post buffs, rank restrictions, number of bots, and password

Not really, because each map has it's own unique objectives; side objectives included. These include demolishing walls, repairing cranes, escorting VIPs, creating shortcuts, closing shortcuts, capturing command posts, etc.

Nope. No clans.

It's totally impossible to make friends outside the game, and it's totally impossible to invite those friends to play on your team, so you can't even create a clan through some forum or website somewhere and coordinate with the usual tools of your gaming platform of choice.

And it's not like the devs have said they want to support competitive gaming and clans in multiple interviews or anything. They'd never say anything as awesome as that. Nope. Not something SD would ever want to support. Particularly considering the massive flop that was W:ET, and ETQW on PC (the only version they made themselves) was just as bad - so few players picked it up that it's still going today... OH WAIT!

Yes, of course there will be clans. Ignore my ridiculously overacted silliness above.

And as for game modes, it's always objective based, with one attacking and one defending team, but each mission has multiple objectives for the attacker, with different classes required for success. Each map also has 2 missions (presumably one for each side to be attacker in, although that hasn't been confirmed). And every mission has a different set of objectives, so you won't just be doing the exact same missions over again in different maps.

I almost thought you were trolling there.

I hope they release TV-servers later on (If possible on all platforms). I loved to watch clans duking it out on W:ET.

Brink dedicated servers and as stated on the bethblog for dedicated servers those support many options including having private matches.

As far as a clan, clan battles and a stat system. We asked those questions on an interview with them recently and we should be able to tell everyone very soon.
As far as I know there won't be anything in game but of course with on PC and steam you have some features and they may have some things available on the internet.

Even if there isn't something from splash damage clans will have support for finding their own clan battles thru the various leagues and agreeing to rulesets beforehand.
How competitive friendly the game is still not entirely known but we will know soon enough.

@ Obliviondoll: For a brief moment I though I lost all faith in you.

At least use Google search. When I typed in Brink Clan support the first entry was, "Brink Clan support "very high" on dev's agenda." Since the game is built as a big online game doesn't it seem a little odd if Clan support wasn't a top priority? It would make tournaments, which they've also talked about Brink being part of tourneys, a little difficult.

No clans support. You are free to make an unoffical clan, but the game won't track it.

No clan battles. You are free to fight other clans, but the game will see it as any old round.

There are some ranks - rank 1 to 5.
  • Rank 1 - Levels 1-5
  • Rank 2 - Levels 6-10
  • Rank 3 - Levels 11-15
  • Rank 4 - Levels 16-19
  • Rank 5 - Level 20, the maximum level.

Each new rank unlocks a new tier of abilites, and you are only allowed to play with other players of that rank. You cacn play with your friends no matter the rank, but the higher ranked players will be lowered in rank for the game.

Each map is a special gamemode. Maybe 4 gamemodes per map. One side attacks, one side defends.

so this means we gotta do the work ourselves and find a clan to challenge and then go through the hassle of organising a time, then get everyone on and play.......all that just to get 1 CM? sigh for a company that loves the competitive community so much u would think there would be better clan support in this game

Competitive gamers usually go PC, and that is the competitive community that is pandered to. Just sayin.
