Multiplayer Issues That NEED Fixing

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 10:47 pm

First. Is the constant "host migration" that fails EVERY time. Nothing is more annoying that doing awesome in a match with only a couple minutes to go and it attempt to do this and boot you, thus losing all your credit for the match.

Second. The persistent instant death from any source. So many times I just die, in a split second from someone. And in the kill cam it shows my killer attacking me for a much shorter period of time than I actually perceived before dying.

Third. Terrible hit detection. Its impossible to determine how many times you're actually hitting someone because even if it shows you hitting someone, you may not have. And it happens all the time. All those moments you're like "Why didn't he die?" "Why did I die so fast?" "Why is my assist bonus so low after hitting that guy so many times?"

Just like the last game the lag and hit detection are so bad that unless the person is directly in front of yo u, you will have no idea you were being shot at for 10 seconds and then you watch the killcam and realize that it was happening but on your screen you just fall over and die fromjnothing and it's extremely annoying.

I'm going to try to give some constructive feedback here and not hate on the game, because it is a solid working game.
It's the launch weekend, first off. And since they're doing double xp, pretty much everyone who owns a copy of the game is going to have issues because everyone and their grandmother is online. Look at any CoD at launch and there's not been one iteration without issues such as these. I do fully agree that the random host migration followed by being booted after the 30 second timer reaches zero is pretty annoying. Especially since it only seems to happen in matches where I'm doing well. I'd assume it's the host rage quitting and causing the migration issues. Crytek, can we get dedicated servers? Is this in the works? I'm really on board with this game, but we do need a more stable connection....especially when migrating hosts. This was an issue Activision ran into with the original Modern Warfare and then World at War, but the issue was fixed by the time MW2 released...years ago.

Secondly, any online game is going to suffer from "connection wars". I have a mediocre connection at best, and I've noticed that the live feed looks a lot different than the replay cam (as mentioned above, you're getting hit in advance of actually seeing it on screen, but the replay clearly shows the enemy has been tagging you). This is nothing new, I see it in CoD ALL the time. But, they mitigate it with dedicated servers.

Lastly, to tie all this up, EA is a mega publisher. They should be supporting the devs better by providing the dedicated servers. I'm not a big EA fan though. I learned earlier today that they already shut down the studio putting out the newest Army of Two game, and ***the game hasn't even released yet! ** Sooooo, here's to hoping that EA will notice this and stop being so damn cheap. The underlying point here being we need dedicated servers. If they can cut teams to "re-teach" their teams for upcoming projects, they are obviously saving quite a bit of money, so pass along the savings to your paying customers by giving us what we deserve.

Crytek, I hope you guys get the support you're looking for. This is a great game, and I'd love to see it gain more success as we go.

Everyone is going to be playing? What? 2,500 people instead of the usual 2,000? Which is nothing. Considering games Halo and CoD break the 100,000 range on their launches. Of course they aren't going to do dedicated servers, it "costs" too much. I'm not sure if you're right about CoD whether they have them or not.

I understand about the connections, but you have to have a pretty bad connection and ISP for it to really matter. It's not like you need a fiber connection to run games smoothly.

Ea is the cheapest publisher known ever to grace the industry even worse than Activision they buy up.studios put them out of business have them make a game break the team up before release the game fails and they blame it on the reviewers instead of saying that they rushed a game out & ithis game is no different this game looks like it needed another year of polish. not have dedicated servers for anything but battlefiel and tell us that they charge for onlin and tell us that they charge for online passes to make a online to make the aonline experience better. EA is known as.the cancer of the industry for.a.reason and I'm honestly surprised that this game and the last 1 neither had an online pass or day 1 DLC on the disc because they do it with every other single game they publish in existence. But they did put their mark on it by rushing it out very early and having **** net code and like every other game they have besides battlefield. I won't be surprised at all if we find out if they are getting rid of Crytek at some point within the next console generation because that is what they do
