I feel like most map in this game are just way to small. This make tactical play almost non existent (IE: it's getting rather old, shoot someone, get shot in the back, rise and repeat, blah).
I know you all hate Call of Duty and bananas, but I think, with their latest game they had fairly well balanced sized map, yes?
The more I play, the more I'm starting to notice how tiny the map are in this game, and I don't like it.
I think the map size is quite good for the majority of the maps.
Not so large that you struggle to find people, and not so small that you can't turn a corner without meeting the team. However, this is actually the case for some of them - the majority are okay. Church map I struggle to find people (and that's why the balcony has ended up being 'the place to be') and the Night levels are so small that yes you do constantly get shot in the back some rounds.
The problem is some of the choke points (that are made by the players) are over-used and make the maps feel smaller than they are because you only ever get firefight action in specific places.
The map size varies significantly. Impact and Terminal are both incredibly small, however Sanctuary, Evac Zone and Statue are very large, and can actually be difficult to reliably find people on without the use of maximum radar. Especially experienced players using silencers to hide themselves from the map when firing.
I do believe the maps that are more 'cluttered' are more enjoyable though, to me at least. They allow a higher level of evasion along the Z axis, unlike maps like Lighthouse that make it difficult to cross the map without being spotted and limited Z cover to utilize.

I don't know where you're getting this. Most people are capable of getting killstreak rewards if they learn to use their suit properly.
Seeing as you referenced CoD; it's no different to Crysis 2 in the sense that picking a smart route round the map and making use of the tools available to you mean you don't need to be the best shooter in the game to win.
On COD:BO the maps are so small, shallow and 1 dimensional compared to Crysis 2 maps. Some maps on Crysis might be small, but they make up for it with depth, or multiple floor levels. Not too many maps on COD:BO that are better than the worst map on Crysis 2. Just my opinion...
I'm not seeing it either. These maps, for the most part, are pretty perfect to me as far as size and taking into account there aren't vehicles in MP. I was getting shot in the back a lot early on, and I still do, but not as much since I've learned the maps and general flow of traffic better.
On the CoD note, I liken this game to the first time I played MW2 online for the first time. Those maps felt so much more complicated than any maps before because of their verticality and all the spots you could get to. I felt like that with this game, but more so. There are a lot of different routes and options to traverse these maps, especially the more complicated building layouts. I'm loving it.
