Multiplayer memory leak issue [ Fixed by PATCH 1.4 ]

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:48 am

I played the singleplayer part without any problems concerning FPS and smoothness of this game. I basically bought it because of multiplayer, however...

When I start the multiplayer and join any server there is, the following pattern appears:

1st game is perfectly playable, without any lags or noticable issues
2nd game is getting huge fps drops when shooting... ending up with like fps 10 in whole game
3rd game is barely playable as you can't walk or shoot fluently
4rd game has nothing to do with Crysis2, you just feel how you're eaten up, can't walk or shoot properly and ragequit...

I've read several other complaints about this, it is NOT overheating issue, because my temps are perfectly fine, it is NOT because of my pc or ram are crap (phenom X4 965+, GTX470, 4GB ram), it ONLY happens in THIS game, ONLY in multiplayer (singleplayer is perfectly fine).

I would be surprised if this won't be fixed in following months because it is only issue of this game and I was really looking forward for some multiplayer action, however I only payed for a half-based product which pisses me off. Please, try to do something with it...

The software has shown notorious issues. All of them for sure crytek is aware. Thanks for expressing your opinion and thoughts on the subject, hopefully somebody who actually works for them will take the time to read it.

I tried to update nvidia drivers to 270.51 but surprisingly the problem still occurs. I just have no idea how can the multiplayer be so unplayable on high-end PC. Especially when singleplayer works fine. I would really like to play the game if I hadn't to restart it after every damn 3rd game. :(

Every solution would be appreciated. (Except of restarting the game or windows, I strongly believe noone from you would be so patient doing that.)

The solution above does not work. I really hope this is going to be fixed in following patches/updates/whatever. I just wanted to have some fun for 40€ I payed for.

Anyone? Anything? Jesus what the hell. This is not normal. How can SP be so smooth whilst MP is unplayable after couple of minutes.

You think thats bad? Go complain about this to all those who pre-ordered IL-2 Cliffs of Dover where the game doesn't even use multi-creo capacity and doesn't bring your card up from standby relying on the CPU in built graphics engine...

Now THAT is an unplayable mess...

Yeah but I am not here to talk about IL2, I am not the only one having this problem seeing dozens of other threads.

This is not a hardware issue nor any flicker problem coming from SLI. I am here to report this and take some feedback because Crysis 2 is still one of my favourite games and I would like to play also online. Actually I payed not-so-small amount of money for that...

Just sayin this is small change compared to a vast majority of games out there that were bugged on release.

Yeah I can accept this, I just want at least a mention @ to-do list or some kind of know issues, there is not a single mention about this common issue nowhere so I just wanted to be sure this is going to be fixed in future, because ending up with unplayable multiplayer on high-end rigs is not what it should stay like.

I just hope more people follow this thread and more people who actually have this sort of problems will take their time and type here, so the devs are aware... I also don't think this belongs to a bug section, this is serious "bug" then... Memory leaks svck...

use some of memory optimizer apps with game.

or some software might be interfering, any system resource heavy security software or anti virus,

hard drive defragment

hard drive file system error logical bad sector
(if you install and uninstall a lot of big sized programs, this seem to cause lot of problems for me.)

window sfc command

I can agree on that, Maddox Games did exactly that with IL-2 recently. I just have faith they will do it.

I already tried most of that, however it still only happens in multiplayer of this game for some strange reason.

Stalin was responsible for the deaths of thousands, so it's OK to go kill a few people, since it's not nearly thousands.

Very very poor anology, not only because it doesn't make sense, but since the same man also said (allegedly) "The death of one man is a tradgedy, the deaths of millions is a statistic"

Actually go out and have a look at other bugged games that have been released in the past 2-3 years, and then see how pitiful your complaints of C2 actually are, [url=http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8071032709/m/8211053819=for example a small portion of the IL-2 buglist[/url]

Ever wondered why i keep referring to IL-2? Because it looks freakin amazing and is more broken than C2 will ever be.

I get the same issue... No issues at all in SP, but can only do 1-2 games in MP, and then framerate drops in 3rd. 4th is completely unplayable; have to close the game entirely and reopen it.

My computer isn't top of the range; Intel i7 920, 4GB RAM, GeForce 9800GT, but this isn't an issue with my hardware, since it runs SP fine, and the first couple of MP games fine.

Would be appreciated if Crytek could at the very least look into the issue and let us know. Much appreciated if they fix it soon =D

Just wanted to chime in.. I have the exact same problem as the original poster.

First game runs fine, second game is choppy, and after a short while is so lagged out even the the menu system stops functioning.

Very frustrating, I can only play one game of multiplayer. Single players works fine hours on end.

speaking of not making sense, it doesn't matter what his feelings on it were. way to fail. I know how most of the pc games have failed in the past few years mate, preaching to the quire. simply pointing out how others have failed doesn't mean that people aren't justified to complain that their $59 was il-spent. Just because things have been bad doesn't make it right for companies to screw us like this. Get the picture? Or you going to dissect this too with some rabbit hole on how the game isn't $59 if you did something or another?

And you seriously trying to push IL-2 on everybody? Nobody cares about that Genre, including developers. Think before you quack mate.
