You can't download mods here. You'll have to visit one of the mod hosting sites or the Steam Workshop. You're best bet for mod downloads is the Nexus site.

However, we can certainly help you with choosing mods to use, and help you with any problems you may have installing or running them.

No, the Nexus is a very reputable site - highly recommended to use it - you don't need to buy a premium user license.

Did you download and are you using Nexus Mod Manager to download your mods, or are you trying to download them manually?

I'm trying to download them manually and I've tried downloading like 6-7 mods already.all with the same result.after choosing the mirror, Salt Lake for example, it gives me the download window and says preparing download.and stops here.been waiting for 10 minutes now non stop.most recently tried getting the german bow collection.

Seems to be working fine for me - do you have any software that could be blocking the download? Any download accelerators, or an overzealous virus scanner that could be interfering?

Is this a new account at the Nexus or did you just sign up? Have you ever been banned from the Nexus before?

EDIT: Try logging on to the chatroom ("chat" at the top right of the Nexus main page) and ask there - milenia (a moderator at the nexus) is in the chat at the moment and will be able to help.

Nope.No software or download accelerators.anti virus disabled.

Never been banned by Nexus but this account i got by just signing up with my email account from google.color me curious...did i miss out something?

Hmm....sometimes something screwy happens - what browser are you using?

Try logging out, clearing your cache (control+f5 on firefox for a hard clear of cache) and then logging back in again.

Did you try and download more than one mod at once? Maybe as you're a new user there's an anti-bot feature...?

Have you tried logging back in after refreshing cache? Maybe a quick reboot of your computer would help too?

I just tried the Nexus site myself and it's working for me. I have a regular account (not premium) and I'm using Chrome as my browser. I'm not sure why you're having problems with the site, but it looks like it's something on your end.

If the mod is exceptionally large (aMidianborn's stuff, for example), the holdup could simply be user demand on the server you selected. The next-to-last update for Book of Silence took several tries for me, with essentially the same symptoms that you're experiencing. I'd recommend selecting the download server with the smallest number of users. All I can say is that the Nexus is a great resource, but persistence can sometimes be necessary. As for the difference between regular and premium services, it's a bit faster to do downloads with a premium membership and premium members have access to a couple of other servers, but the two are pretty much identical otherwise.
