Multiple forms of objects

Me being one of those anol retentive palyers who keeps track and collects all itmes in the game I have some questions vis a vis the TES editor which provided me with the list of everyting to collect.

It is true that some items have the same name but different attributs (weight, price etc). Typically some quest items have zero weight compred to their plain counterparts. Occasionally not even that. I recall two crustal balls that look the same but have different weight hence I count them as two different items.

Problem is there are several items for which I cant seem to find this evil twin and I am not sure which attribute is different. For example there no less than 6 entries in the editor for the Bloodworm Helm all stating 150, 55, 5 (which I count for value, weight, defence or whatmind you). But I dont see why is that. Same with boots of bloody grounding and other stuff, not just armor.

The there is the less weird but still incomprehensible to me Dwarven Helmet (and several other items - most of elven stuff is like this) with two different parameters

Dwarven Helmet 350 115 8
Dwarven Helmet 400 115 8

The list is long (6 paint brushes etc)

So can someone please help me make some sense here?

Different sizes, colours and such. Quest/Unique items that have multiple copies will be the leveled versions - if I'm not wrong.

Hm. Kind of true for say folded cloth, pewter cup etc but is there really two types of elven helmet?

Havent see that.

Can you please elaborate on the leveled thing? I have seen leveling with creatures where say rats or whatever level up as th eplayer does but with items? Only thing I noted is that I get more upscale objects in the dungeons etc but I havent found different objects of the same type that dont stack up (except paintbrushes :)

In an unmodded version of Oblivion, there are quite a few items that depend on what level your character is at when they get the object. Fingers of The Mountain, Redwave, The Estucheon of Chorrol, The Phylactory of Litheness, and many quest rewards are levelled items.
There are two versions of an unenchanted Elven Helm, but one is a replica <--- I may be wrong on this.
A chest that only has a bronze ring and a rusty dagger at level one might contain a Ring of Perfection and an Enchanted Daedric Longsword at level thirty.
