Muscle-Men or Teddy Bears?

Post » Mon Apr 19, 2010 6:22 am

FFS, women are not the only members of the human species to produce hormones.

This thread has jumped the shark and died on the railroad tracks.

OP, find people who appreciate you for you. The physical you will always change, age comes to us all. If the women you associate with use you, or are so shallow as to only want eye candy, then it is time for you to find new friends.

This thread makes me want to join a monestary.

I don't blame you. I'm rather embarrassed to be a guy right now.

If you are embarrassed over what others do that you personally don′t agree with you must have had a very hard time with history class in school... o.O

I did just fine in history class. Mostly just slept since it was my first class and I was too tired to pay any attention.

I've been reading this thread for a while, and honestly I've got to say you sound like an angry e-raging teenager who just lost a roll in World of Warcraft.
You sound like the most stereotypical womans rights activist, who freaks out anytime someone mentions the word PMS. Just sayin'.
You need to realize that woman are just as immature as men, and saying otherwise makes you pretty short sighted as far as your own six goes.

I don't hate my own gender. I enjoy being a guy. It just makes me embarrassed(I don't know why.) when something like this thread pops up and guys rush in with "women lol." and proceed with blanket statements and stereotypes. It also bothers me when women go "men lol." and call us all mindless six hounds.

So I'd just like some thoughts: Do girls prefer the tall, thin men with muscles, or the big soft men who are like teddy bears?

Girls, like guys, differ in their tastes. Some women will laugh if a fat man tries to hit on them while some will want to know him better before passing judgement. Some men will not give a girl the time of day if she doesn't have big boobs and a small waist. OP, I guarantee you there will be someone out there that will find you sixy as you are. However, I do suggest that for your personal health/benefit you start a small workout routine.

As for the rest of this thread, well I didn't read most of it but I gather that people have been scorned and now are biased toward the opposite six. Just remember, as much as you want a girl based on looks a girl wants you based on looks. This is one of the biggest perceived double standards in our society. Women are expected to be physically perfect and nothing is expected of men, physically. Thats BS, looks are only meant to get you as far as the first conversation, after that it should be based on he person as a whole.

They're wrong pretty much everytime and don't serve much of a purpose.

The girls prefer a man who is confident, has a shining personality, respect for them, and self-respect. Not all care about a guy's body shape.

Personally I've found, as in all human divisions, roughly 65% of all women fall into a category that is much akin to what causes the cynicism in once nice guys (cynical guys are hardly nice anymore after-all).
Then again, 65% of men fall into the category that makes women hate men. Its a wonderful cycle. The thing is, not everyone can even be average, much less above average. Indeed, by most measures average is only the top 35-55 percentile (based on many measurements of worth being personality, wealth, prowess and intelligence in whatever measures that give them their advantages) in any group can be called average, unlike the grading system in school.

So, from the people that are at or above average (assuming you are), then its a simple matter of deducing core desires, and then seeking a personality that incorporates them favourably in someone that thinks the same of you.
I.E. If your physical appearance is something you consider important as to who should like you, then you will attract someone that thinks appearance matters; however, if you don't care about your appearance, then you will attract someone who, likewise, does not care about your appearance.

Personally I made a little pact with myself after my wife left me at 19 (I know, I know, but live and learn) not to bother with relationships until I'm 25. I'm not exactly certain what I'm lacking to handle them well, but obviously its something, and with any luck the deciding factors will be age and (more importantly) experience in living. Currently, I'm 21.

BTW: as for the direct question. I myself always preferred what you call "teddy bears". Muscle-men make unpleasant bed-mates.

And what proof do you have of that Bs statement?

Stereotypes are an extension of grouping people or objects together based on a common denominator and blanket statements are used to talk about said group in order to keep it efficient, sure it does not encompass all singular building blocks of said group but what it does is speak about trends, if we did not have stereotypes we would not be able to classify certain animals as dangerous to us or certain lesser desirable elements of society as dangerous to the common good, while both are capable of breaking from their norm and thus their stereotype it serves as pointless to argue from that perspective.

Bottom line is that stereotypes are extremely useful and blanket statements is simply a way of dealing with a subject in a quick and efficient way instead of dwelling on all the atoms that make out an argument.

Oh for god sake. Did you really have to resort to insulting me? Fine, have some blanket statements/stereotypes:

All gamers are fat nerds who live in their mother's basemant doing nothing but eating cheetos and trolling internet forums.
Every person who likes sports is a roided out meat head.
All men are deviant six hounds who don't give a damn about anyone else but themselves.
All women are evil hell beasts who secretly hate men and want the male species to die off.
America is nothing but fatasses.
Anybody who listens to Tool, Cake, ohGr, and other such bands are potheads and/or drug addicts.

There are more but aren't forum appropriate.

Edit: And no I'm not continuing this conversation because there is absolutely no point.

Brilliant.
completely missing my point, I applaud you for reading through all that text without actually understanding a word.

Though you have to realise you are making blanket statements about stereotypes which I find hilarious...
