Museum Entry Fee

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 12:08 am

I have a new museum made, with dozens of items and trinkets for the viewing of the player. But there is one small thing that i need to do to make it more realistic, i wish to make a cost to enter the museum. Or it doesn't even have to be to enter the room, it could be to pass a certain point in the room.

For example, if the player walks past an invisible line across the room, then the player is arrested for trespassing, but if however, the player pays the entry fee, they can pass without penalty.

Is this possible, if so how?
Thanks

Well you'd need to pay someone, so add a curator NPC at the door/turnstile/entry rope to collect the fee, and do it in a dialog and its result script.

If they pay the Fee then add them to a "Customer Faction" (you have to make this). The room beyond, that is the actual museum, should have allow only "Customer Faction" people in there, otherwise it's regarded as trespassing. When you leave you are removed from the faction. That is how I'd do it.
