MUSHROOMS

Post » Fri Feb 07, 2014 2:27 pm

A mushroom walks into a party ?
You cant come in here
Why not I'm a Fungi ?

Hey whats the deal with all the mushrooms ? They're in alot of video games, I took notice of this when I first saw the Centipede game cabnit back in the 80s. They're in all the games have you ever noticed this ?

Do you like mushrooms ? Me? No. If you insist keep them on your side of the pizza. I use mushroom soup in my recipes sometimes oddly enough and it doesn't bother me.

Any mycologists out there ?

Ever feel like a mushroom ?
Do they keep you in the dark and feed you [censored] ?

I had a mushroom phobia until I was like 10, and I would go great lengths to avoid encountering them in my everyday life. One consequence is that I grew more fascinated of them, so yeah I like mushrooms and I have a decent knowledge of them.

I don't care for them personally, but am understanding of people that do.

Mushrooms are alright, but their texture is a turn-off when they're cooked. Uncooked mushrooms are good, but I don't see the point of putting them on pizza and stuff since they don't really add to the flavor.

Not particularly.

In the case of Japanese video games I always thought it might have something to do with hallucinogenic mushrooms being legal in Japan until 2002.

Seriously?

Damn, I should have taken that trip to Toyko back in high school.

Probably explains a lot of their cartoons.

Trippy bro

Also, mushrooms are disgusting, never can bring myself to eat them. Whenever I have a chicken and mushroom pot noodle (the best kind), there's always a load of mushrooms at the bottom.

I think they were legal in the UK until 2005, but not the dried out kind as they were way more potent or something.

Me, I love 'em. I buy the cheap white-caps at Wal-Mart and add 'em to my salads. I also eat 'em as-is during meal prep. They do tend to spoil rather quickly...by the end of the week (grocery wise) they're barely edible. But while still fresh they have a yummy taste.

Love creme of mushroom soup too.

Didn't eat 'em as a kid...either mom or dad (or both) didn't like 'em, so never kept any in the house.

I used to hate mushrooms. Everything from their rubbery texture to their almost dirt like earthy flavor. Turns out I was eating the wrong kinds of mushrooms.

1 part two quarters of shrooms 2 parts middle of the night in winter 3 parts walk through the woods of your elementary school and roll around in the snow like you are going to live there finally fear that a deer is bleeding under a mound of snow, realize its a stream, and forget which way you came from.

Yeah, I was walking down the street in Ebisu (Tokyo) one day in 2000 and was really surprised to see people selling them legally at sidewalk stands and such.

I, uh, wouldn't know.

Me and mushrooms have made a deal, they stay outside and i stay inside. I can tolerate the odd mushroom in a pizza, but i don't go out of my way to eat them. Everyone else in my family loves them, though

I do like how they look though, a big amarita or bolete somehow looks nice to me  But i'm not going eat them. Especially the poisonous one. (Using a translator here since i don't know the names myself. Try to ignore if i'm saying something odd :hehe:).

My friend is like that with spiders. I think he still is phobic around them though.

I don't like mushrooms all that much.

Oklahoma still has plenty of Western Sizzlin places open----I might have to pay them a visit once this weather clears up.

There's mushroom soup, and mushroom soup.

No seriously. If someone knows how to make a good soup, mushroom soup is incredibly good. Stupidly good.
