muskets

Seriously? Another gun thread? I would rather read ten pages of another console bashing thread than have to deal with "LAWL Skyrim should have guns LAWL" again.

If they added guns. No doubt they would add like some sort of way to intergrate cannons. Sorry bro but midevil fantasy is ruined when guns get introduced. Think about fable 1. No guns really good game. Think about fable 2 had guns and the game was easy and got boring too. It's just not a good fit

so form what im seeing, its mostly for lore reasons why we shouldn't have firearms? i just think thats a little constructing to limit game potential do to the lore. think about it, humans went through the dark aegs too which evolved into the age of sale which brought about the use of the cannon so i cant see how TES isn't gonna evolve into that to in the future.

Humans also went through 1000s of years before the dark ages, that saw the rise, peak, and fall of many great civilizations, none of them produced guns.

I say NO to guns in any Elder Scroll game. I like the sword and magic style of game, it seems to me that magic and guns don't really mesh.

Just give us crossbows, a way to easily integrate animations and wait a few weeks and we'll have a musket mod. But don't put it in from the get go. It wrecks the lore. I'd love to see a flintlock and would love to dual wield pistols like that, but leave it to the modders.

as a second point, you cant say "oh 200 years theyd have basic guns by now" - after just having a lot of s**t go down (infernal city etc) and the civil war in skyrim, i doubt they would be spending time developing guns. magic ftw!

NO, the only gun-like weapon that would be accepted would be a cross-bow

No.

The concept of firearms in a TES game is mentally challenged. (they wouldn't let me use the R word)

Spears are OUT. Put in muskets please. I just completed Black Ops with my bros and we would love it if the Elder Scrolls included these bad boys. I mean you guys already put in weapon perks. Make it so.

You know what? Screw muskets. It's high-time we saw some rocket-launchers in TES.

Well... I'm of mixed opinion on this.

On the one hand, Yes. I wouldn't mind them if they were treated as an awkward, finicky, (but powerful) dwarven contraption; but not if they are designed [to be used] like the single shotgun in FalloutNV.

On the other hand... No. I don't want the sea of Skyrim threads that would come from all the pro-FPS players, asking "why the guns svck so bad in this game!?"

Come on guys, it's been 200 years, flintlocks and muskets would be pretty cool.

Then again, I'm not so sure how well it would fit into the nordic environment, maybe for TESVI: Hammerfell, Redguards are sort of pirate-y right?

For now lets just get spears and crossbows back.

Who needs muskets if you can salvage the terrifying Dwemer dart-thrower from their ruins instead? lol.

That would not make sense after all the destruction of the Oblivion crysis, the fall of one of the more advanced nations (Morrowind) and the loss of many Dwemer artifacts/technology, not to mention the fact that there is political instability, civil wars, and the empire is almost disintegrating? If anything, technology and magic will have regressed in this period, trade will have decreased along with travelling and the exchange of ideas around the world. This is pretty much the Tamriel equivalent of the Dark Ages that started around/when Rome collapsed.
