Must-have song for Fallout 4

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:07 am

Hey people,

I've just signed up to this forum in order to show you an extremely rare song that is absolutely perfect for Fallout series. I found it months ago in spanish Radio 3. It is an old gospel song called "Atom Bomb" and performed by a strange band called "Revelators Quartet", and it's really, really funny :D. You can listen to it in this podcast, minute 13:30. Don't you love it?

www[dot]rtve[dot]es/alacarta/audios/el-sotano/sotano-230115/2962847/#aHR0cDovL3d3dy5ydHZlLmVzL2FsYWNhcnRhL2ludGVybm8vY29udGVudHRhYmxlLnNodG1sP3BicT0xJm1vbnRoRmlsdGVyPTEmb3JkZXJDcml0ZXJpYT1ERVNDJm1vZGw9VE9DJnllYXJGaWx0ZXI9MjAxNSZsb2NhbGU9ZXMmcGFnZVNpemU9MTUmY3R4PTIyMzMxJmFkdlNlYXJjaE9wZW49ZmFsc2U=

(Sorry for that ugly URL, for some reason I can't post external links on the forum. You have to copy that URL in your navigation bar and replace the two [dot] appearances with actual dots)

It seems that there is no information on the web neither about the song nor the band. There is another version by "The Blind Boys of Alabama", but the first one is by far more vintage.

So, let's see if developers are listening to us  Any ideas for communicating this little feature to them? Do you think they could include this fabulous piece of post-apocalyptic music in Fallout 4?

I wish they would put some songs off Ozzy Osborne's Ultimate Sin album...but isn't 1950's. Would be great for a mod.

Absolutely agree!!

That one by Al Rex is also really nice, it's similar to the song I was talking about. I would love to see it in Fallout 4.

I think Dirty Water by the Standells would be perfect. The song is about Boston and the wasteland is not lacking in dirty water. The only problem is that the song is from the sixties, so it's a bit past the era fallout usually draws from.

Hehe. I was quite happy to see they'd put Hank Williams in TLoU. I have his stuff on CD so it was nice hearing him on a game. : >

Something from Leadbelly. There is a perk named after him after all.

No there wasn't. 'Leadbelly' is in reference to lead being used to shield against radiation, hence the reason the perk reduces water radiation.

Leadbelly was named in 1900 or so.The Leadbelly perk was named in 1997.It was very much named after him .97 years after him.

I realize you are correct I just want a Leadbelly song or two in the game and am willing to make up stuff to make it happen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whPzJbntlnY, by Tom Waits. Not quite the right era, but the themes are dead on.

Peggy Lee is a goddess. A shame most of her stuff is still under copyright. Still, we had her cover of "Why Don't You Do Right" in FNV, so...here's hoping for "Fever" in FO4.

Glenn Miller Orchestra- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niCOcI1XyWY

I'd honestly prefer it if not all the songs in the game had something to do with Atom bombs, hydrogen bombs, nuclear bombs, and bombs, and bombs, and bombs.

It is in the http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6104/? radio mod, so the song is presumably public domain. What would be cool is if they incorporate this station into the game or offer it as an approved user mod.

Another good Hank Williams song would be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCgicPdsxxg. But tbh, just about anything he wrote would go well with Fallout, though he would drive people who hate real country music up the wall.

Edit: another good one would behttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7FQeFOBtBk.
