We must make sure this is in Skyrim

I've never really cared much about vampires and haven't yet played Bloodmoon to voice my opinion on Werewolves, but I do enjoy vampires at least being around as enemies. And I like the Dark Brotherhood, though I'll admit I prefer them as antagonists and would love for there to be an underplot of friction between the DB and Morag Tong remnants from Morrowind, but I'm getting a bit off topic.

I vote absolutely not on any war between vampires and werewolves - it's an extremely trite cliche that seems to happen in a lot of recent settings that happen to feature both of them, and as has been said before the bloodsvckers and beasts of Tamriel could care less about each other. Having both just co-exist without interacting much would be a lot better in my eyes than magicking up an overdone sideplot for the sake of having an overdone sideplot.

Attack of the clones? http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1179421-the-best-side-quests-of-the-best-and-abilites/

As you all know Marrowind had the Werewolf gameplay, which if I may say was marvelous. Than Oblivion came out with the Vampire game play which also made the game twenty times better!

Er...actually, as most of us all know Oblivion didn't "come out with" Vamipres as playable any more than Morrowind did Werewolves. Vanilla Morrowind had Vampires to begin with, then the Bloodmoon add-on added Werewolves. Vampires, unlike Werewolves, returned in Oblivion. And all this comes after both lycanthropy and vampirism were in Daggerfall.

Question - Will Skyrim have an ability to play one of these? I think it should have both abilities!

I think there should be a huge blinking red sign at the top of the page saying "Search Function Here!"

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1173864-vampirewerebeast-9/

There's round 9 of the ongoing thread intended to ensure vampires and lycanthropes are in Skyrim.

You are absolutely correct. Werewolves are playable in Daggerfall and Bloodmoon, vampires were shown in arena, but the player never became one. Daggerfall, Morrowind and Obliivion had playable vampires.

Also, my last two posts are in that thread, I really do not want to bump it a third time. Someone else can do it. It would save the forums from yet another werewolf/vampire thread.

DB is a must. Vampires and werewolves are very good bonus though

Again, why? There are no standing reasons in TES to pit vampires versus werewolves. They have different methods for hunting, they have vast tracts of land on which to keep separate from one another, their origins come from Daedric entities that don't really have beefs with one another (Vaermina/Molag Bal for vamps and Hircine for were's), and since the time of Adamantine Tower they've had no real motivation to pay attention to each other whatsoever (and in the eyes of all observers on Tamriel that have ever existed, they haven't ever paid attention to each other).

Because some people watched movies like Underworld and thought it was super cool and that Vampires and Werewolves must be mortal enemies, always fighting to the death. Why they latched onto it, I haven't got a clue. I wouldn't mind seeing both vampires and werewolves in Skyrim, but keep that stupid vs thing out of it.

After reading the subheader the first thing that came to mind was the "Twighlight" series of movies. :bolt:

I would love to have both in the game. I won't hold my breath for both being in the game though.

It's simple math.

(Underworld + male humans + Kate Beckinsale in skintight vinyl + hormones) + (Twilight + female humans + multiple male leads + hormones) = Vampire-Werewolf conflict is guaranteed moneymaker

:D

That said, I don't really care about anything but one small detail regarding the whole issue: No lame multiple-movie-ripoff mandatory vampire-lycanthrope conflict.

What's the difference between the Black Hand and the Dark Brotherhood? I thought the Black Hand were the most important members of the Dark Brotherhood....

That's what I said. No one seems to know what this thread is about...

Well, the thread started out with some bizarre nonsense, so that's sort of understandable. Something to do with vampires being introduced in Oblivion and werewolves in Marrowind and how super-uber-cool it would be if they went to war against each other in Skyrim, because apparently war between vampires and werewolves is super-uber-cool. I dunno....

As for the Black Hand bit - there isn't a group or faction or anything known as the Black Hand. It's just a name that's been used a couple of times - the Black Hand Dagger in Morrowind and the Black Hand Robes in Oblivion. It's possible that Beth will come up with some sort of lore surrounding the term, but so far as I know, they haven't yet.

I presume that since the OP refers to the Dark Brotherhood and the Black Hand as if they're two different things, he's actually referring to the DB and the Morag Tong. I dunno about that either, but that'd be my guess.

How is that an option? You can pick to have the dark brotherhood or the dark brotherhood and the leaders of the dark brotherhood. That makes no sense at all.

Right. Where are the "I don't care" or the "No, I don't like that" options? Badly designed poll is badly designed.

I agree, I don't want the DB to be in Skyrim, it is too cult-y for me. I would like some sort of assassin's guild that was just about the money (apparently this was the Morag Tong in Morrowind).

As a side note: Why do people say "Badly designed poll is badly designed" or "Biased poll is biased"? Is that some sort of reference to something where you repeat it like that? Why not just say "The poll is biased"?

Eh, I wouldn't mind the DB as it was presented in Daggerfall or Morrowind. The turn it took in Oblivion was pretty over the top.

Biased poll is biased :P
Both and I would like the DB back, but you should include a "no" option for those who didn't like the DB.

The Black Hand are in Oblivion. You kill most of them. They're the four listeners and one speaker.

It's a stupid internet meme. And I agree, assassins about the money are awesome, but the DB is all ritual sacrifice-y.

Yea, they should make the brotherhood less cult-like for all the complainers, but they MUSt add a joinable cult for us people who like that sort of dark stuff. I don't want to be an assassins guild that works for money, I want to kill and eat entrails!

Molag Bal. Vaermina.
Or hey, maybe even Sanguine on a more quirky day.

Werewolves would be nice. Vampires too, but I won't flip out about it.

I agree I don't like to be mean to people in games but i definitely prefer the darker more evil side. I think that skyrim should have like, a very in depth way to play the game in a more shadowy way.
