Mutants, Robots and Whiskey.

I really hope we can play as different factions.

Mutants, where we would have the ability to capture NPC's and mutate them. After ward they would act for us, for instance.. we are attacking a human town and they would help.

Robots, The ability to interchange parts

so many possibilities for this game.

I doubt we see mutant and robots as playable races, at best we might get the option to work for a super mutant faction but that′s about it.

I hardly think robots will be a playable race, especially if its after tactics and even if it is during tactics they would have to fallow the fallout canon and destroy the robots after a while any way :/

Robots in general follow a program and doesn't do anything on their own and are also pretty rare, they don't wonder the wasteland randomly, they usually stick to the place to where they were designated.

Super mutants on the other hand could be playable, lots of talking about this on other threads and I'v put up suggestions there as well. Image

Hi,
I don't know whether my comment fits in, but i always wanted to post it (since i saw F3), somewhere it could be heard. So here it goes .. I wonder why interpretation of super mutants (i mean meshes) is so narrow shouldered, because i liked old Fallouts' mutants and that made really big impact for me about the game.

They prefer 'impaired.' "What would your good do if evil didn't exist, and what would the earth look like if all the shadows disappeared?"

sorry guys, the exact quote would be:
Q:What will the playable races be?
A:The available races are not known, but known races in the Fallout world include humans, super mutants and ghouls. Mutant raccoons and furry talking deathclaws are much less likely candidates.

so its my bad, i remembered it wrong ...

Robots WERE a playable race in Tactics. I don't remember any part of canon saying they must all be destroyed eventually.

Every Fallout title has had at least one instance of Sentient Artificial Intelligence, machines with emotions, or machines with organic brains.

Its not really a stretch for machines to have personalities, or be a playable race. Although I'm pretty doubtful that they will be a good playable race.

Super Mutants and robots are most liklely not playable.

Mutants are so big and bulky you would need a whole series of armours just for them and it just seam like to much busy work.

Robots are so physically diffrent to the other living things (most are not even humanoid) again same reason as above, to much busy work.

at tops I suspect we can choose between humans and ghouls as they are similar enough they can share the same gear.

We have time. Time is the only thing preventing what work you are talking about being done. Would you rather they were released later as an expansion pack for an additional fee? I wouldn't. Adding classes/races after launch - especially ones particularly suited for a certain task - completely negate characters you've invested time in to do that role. Don't let me build a ghoul melee dude only to be given access to something with better radiation interaction and more hit points and strength later. Let them take the time they need to develop what they choose is going to be available. Rush it, and we all lose.

you might have time...but the game industry don′t, gamesas leaks money every months the game is still on the drawing board, I′m not saying they should rush it, but in the other end I don′t want them to stretch them self to thin just to scratch a fanbase itch and risk fading into vaporware. Better to release the game with humans and maybe ghouls and have the ability to release a good, solid game with in a reasonable time and earn back that money before they go to close to the edge and we get to play as nothing at all.

As a long time Everquest player, one of my biggest complaints was the three expansions yearly cycle they had for a while. It's expensive. And it drives people away by making content exclusive to the people with money. Sometimes I can't just run out and throw another $30 at content. When the people I play with can, I'm left to wait alone as they experience new things. What you are suggesting they do is provide most of a game, and then add more content later once it's established. I'd rather pay a premium monthly fee and get a complete game than be nickle and dimed on expansion content for the next ten years.
